SUSPECTED DRUG PEDDLERS APPREHENDED
Deomali, the 25th of August 2026 :
The Deomali & Khonsa Police along with the Sub Divisional Administration Deomali in a joint operation busted Four suspected drug peddlers at Deomali Check Gate.
Based on a reliable information that a car bearing registration No- AR 09A 8114 moving from Khonsa towards Namsangmukh were in possession of suspected contraband substance & accordingly, the information so received was communicated to the SDPO , SP Tirap & Town Magistrate Deomali.
Thereafter, acting on the information, OC Borduria Insp. Ngowang Rango along with Inspector W. Ronrang of PS Deomali, immediately proceeded to the Police check gate Deomali and established naka. The Executive Magistrate Deomali Sh. Toko Kacha also reached the spot after being telephonically informed. Two independent witnesses namely Sh. Tanglan Hutu and Sh. Wangkhon Songthing were also present at the location & in the presence of the Executive Magistrate and both the independent witnesses, all four alleged accused were searched according to procedure.
The four alleged accused were namely -
1. Sh. Kaling Mibang, S/O – Sh. Talom Mibang, R/O- Kelek Mirbuk village, PO/PS- Pasighat, East Siang district,
2. Sh. Mibom Tayeng, S/O – Ker Tayeng, R/O- Jarku village, PO/PS- Pasighat, East Siang district.
3. Sh. Tajen Pame, S/O- Lt. Tanung Pame, R/O- Pame village, PO/PS- Kayeng, Siang district.
4. Sh. Bai Kambu, S/O- Lt. Taba Kambu, R/O- Telam village, PO/PS- Nari, Dist- Lower Siang.
Two of the accused are currently serving in the armed forces. One accused Sh. Tajen Pame is posted as ASI (SG) in the 5th IRBN Pasighat, another Sh Bai Kambu is serving as a constable in 1st IRBN Namsangmukh, Deomali.
During the search, suspected drugs weighing 90.6 gram & cash worth Rs. 20,000/- approx along with other items were recovered by the Police.
This coordinated operation was also joined by the 36 BN CRPF Personnel & the 44 AR Personnel during the procedure.
This operation is an ongoing coordinated effort of Police and Administration in curbing drug menace in Tirap District.
