The launch of nationwide “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksith Bharat Abhiyan” was observed at Deomali on 2nd August 2026. Sub-division administration in collaboration with Life Care Foundation, Wellness Counselling Centre and New Way Foundation organised foot march rally from General Ground to Taxi Stand participated by Shri Wangki Lowang Hon’ble Minister Forest & Environment, Mining and DoTCL, Yalik Lowang ZPM Deomali, Wanglem Thingnok Zpm Soha, public leaders, general public, staffs, students and traders. Rally was followed by formal program at puja hall near Taxi Stand.
The formal program started with highlight of aims and objectives of this campaign by ADC incharge Smt Indira Thamoung Riba.
Hon’ble Minister urged the youth to follow the path of discipline away from any kind of substance abuse and to be the medium for positive changes in the society. He appreciated the efforts of rehabilitation centres in working towards wellness of the society and spreading awareness on having a healthy life. In order to detect substance abuse by a person at the nascent stage the Minister advised everyone to monitor and keep an eye on any behavioural change of their near and dear ones.
ZPM Deomali, MOIC Dr. K. Matey and Sub Inspector N.Jilen also spoke on the occasion.
The Sub divisional Administration & the Police Department appeals the general public to cooperate for a Nasha Mukht Tirap & a Nasha Mukht Bharat for achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat 🇮🇳
