Save Gir Lions The population in 1907 was believed to consist of only 13 lions when the Nawab of Junagadh gave them complete protection.

The Asiatic lion also known as the Indian Lion, is a subspecies of lion only found in Gir Forest of Gujarat India.In 2010, the Gujarat government reported 411 Asiatic lions were sighted in the Gir forest. The Gir Forest National Park of western India has about 411 lions (as of April 2011) which live in a 1,412 km2 (545 sq mi) sanctuary covered with scrub and open deciduous forest habitats. This fi

gure, however, is highly controversial because the first census of lions in the Gir that was conducted in 1936 yielded a result of 234 animals.

Gir Lions have crossed population of 700, thanks to all Forest officers and department for their extra ordinary care towards Lions... We salute all of them and wish they can preserve more wild life sanctuary. Let us take care of all d animals who can never speak to us, let us help all the people who take care of them, let us preserve the forest so that nature can be saved... Let us take a first step so that our next generation also enjoys the nature...
