A one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organised by MSME in collaboration with SDA, focusing on hoteliers and local entrepreneurs. Key speakers included Mirza Fabiha, IPO & Bushra (Functional Manager, DIC Gbl, Sahil Asst. Director, MSME DFO Srinagar & Sajid Hussain. On the occasion of World Tourism Day 2025, the Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan, in collaboration with Tourism Department, Sonamarg Development Authority organized a special program at the picturesque tourist destination of Sonamarg.

This year’s global theme, "Tourism and Sustainable Transformation," was at the heart of the event. The celebration focused on raising legal awareness, protecting Sonamarg’s fragile ecology, and encouraging responsible tourism practices.

Officials emphasized the need to strike a balance between tourism development and environmental protection, highlighting that the preservation of Sonamarg’s natural beauty depends on the active involvement of all stakeholders.

Representatives from the Beopar Mandal Sonamarg, Pony Association, local traders, and other key groups participated with enthusiasm. They reaffirmed their commitment to cleanliness, ecological care, and improved services for visitors.

The Sonamarg Development Authority also announced that regular awareness drives will be carried out to educate locals and tourists about sustainable tourism and legal responsibilities.

The program concluded with a collective pledge to uphold environmentally friendly, legally compliant, and economically viable tourism in the region—echoing the global call for sustainable tourism.

As part of the World Tourism Day 2025 celebrations, the Department of Tourism Studies at the Central University of Kashmir, in collaboration with the Sonamarg Development Authority, organized an event focused on promoting sustainable tourism and regional development.
During the program, Mr. Furkan, President of Bioparmandal, highlighted Sonamarg's immense tourism potential and formally requested the Chief Executive Officer of SDA to organize regular tourism-centric events and activities in the region. He noted that these efforts would contribute significantly to eco-tourism promotion, job creation, and showcasing the pristine beauty of Sonamarg to the world.
Mr. Furkan also commended the SDA for its continuous dedication to maintaining sanitation and cleanliness, calling it a vital foundation for building a model and responsible tourism destination.
