PTS Manigam Celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervour.

The 80th Independence Day of the Nation was celebrated with great patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and pride at Police Training School Manigam . The ceremony was organised in a dignified and befitting manner to commemorate the historic occasion of India’s independence and to reaffirm the values of patriotism, discipline, unity and dedication to the nation.
The Flag was hoisted at the ceremonial ground of PTS by Esteemed Principal PTS Manigam Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan -JKPS, following which the National Anthem was sung with due reverence.
After the flag hoisting ceremony, the Principal inspected the parade presented by the trainees, which reflected the high standards of discipline, turnout, coordination, alertness and professional bearing being imparted at the Training School. The smart and synchronised movements of the trainees demonstrated their dedication towards training and their commitment to the responsibilities of policing. On the occasion, The Principal delivered an inspiring speech, highlighted the significance of the day and paid heartfelt tribute to the freedom fighters and national heroes whose courage, sacrifice and determination made India’s independence possible.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Principal Administration/Outdoor Shri Nisar Ahmad, Assistant Principal Indoor Shri Farooq Ahmad, other Senior officers, staff members and trainees of the Police Training School.
The Principal conveyed Independence Day greetings to all officers, officials, trainees and their families and called upon everyone to discharge their duties with integrity, discipline, courage, professionalism and dedication. He emphasised that true service to the nation is reflected through sincere performance of duty, respect for the law and commitment to the welfare and security of the people.

Police Training School Manigam Organises Debate Competition on Topic "Police Training: An Epitome of Discipline"
Police Training School Manigam successfully organised an insightful and intellectually enriching Debate Competition on the topic "Police Training: An Epitome of Discipline", with the objective of enhancing the communication skills, analytical thinking, confidence, and public speaking abilities of recruit trainees.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 23 recruit trainees, who eloquently expressed their views both in favour of and against the motion. Through well-researched arguments and confident presentations, the participants highlighted various dimensions of police training, emphasizing its role in instilling discipline, professionalism, integrity, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility among police personnel.
The programme was gracefully anchored by Inspector Hussain Ahmad, whose effective moderation ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the event. The occasion was attended by the Assistant Principal Outdoor/Administration, Assistant Principal (Indoor), Faculty members of Adm.,Indoor and outdoor and Other staff of the Training School, whose presence encouraged and motivated the participants.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, the Principal, Police Training School Manigam, SSP Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan-JKPS, congratulated all the participants for their outstanding performances and appreciated their confidence, preparation, and command over the subject. He emphasized that debate competitions play a vital role in developing critical thinking, communication skills, and leadership qualities among trainees. He further stated that discipline remains the cornerstone of policing, and police training serves as the foundation upon which professional competence, ethical conduct, and public service are built. He encouraged the trainees to continue participating in such academic activities to broaden their knowledge and enhance their overall personality.
At the conclusion of the competition, the performances of the participants were evaluated by the jury members, and the first, second, and third position holders were felicitated with trophies in recognition of their exceptional performances. In addition, all participating trainees were presented with Appreciation Certificates for their enthusiastic participation and commendable efforts.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks presented by the Assistant Principal (Indoor),Shri Farooq Ahmad Mir, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Principal for his inspiring guidance, the jury members for their fair evaluation, the officers and faculty for their support, the organising team for the successful conduct of the event, and the recruit trainees for their active participation and disciplined conduct throughout the programme.
The event concluded on a high note, reaffirming the Training School's commitment to promoting academic excellence, constructive dialogue, and the holistic development of future police professionals.

PTS Manigam :

Under the Supervision of Worthy Principal PTS Manigam SSP Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan-JKPS, a team of Medical officials of Sub Police Hospital Zewan conducted HIV Testing and Counselling of recruit Trainees at Police Training School Manigam.
The program was conducted as part of routine health screening and preventive care .The activity is aimed at promoting awareness, early detection and overall well being of trainees.

Syllabus Review Meeting Conducted at Police Training School Manigam.

A comprehensive Syllabus Review Meeting of the Indoor and Outdoor Faculty was convened today under the Chairmanship of the Principal, Police Training School Manigam, SSP Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan-JKPS, to assess the progress of the ongoing Basic Recruit Training Course (BRTC).

The meeting was attended by Assistant Principal Outdoor/Indoor ,Law instructors, CDI, Incharge Trainings, and other Administrative staff members.

During the meeting, the Assistant Principal (Indoor) presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting the academic progress achieved during the past two months. The presentation covered the commencement of the training course, implementation of the curriculum prescribed by Police Headquarters, conduct of classroom lectures, brainstorming sessions, guest lectures, interactive discussions, periodic tests, revision classes, and other academic activities undertaken to enhance the knowledge and professional competence of the recruit trainees. A subject-wise review of syllabus completion by all instructors was also presented, along with the challenges encountered and the action plan for timely completion of the remaining curriculum.

The Assistant Principal (Outdoor) subsequently presented the progress report of outdoor training for the same period. The presentation included details of physical training, parade, drill, sports activities, endurance activities, and other outdoor training components. The overall discipline, attendance, performance, and physical development of the recruit trainees were also reviewed.
After reviewing the progress reports, the Principal Police Training School Manigam, appreciated the dedicated efforts of both the Indoor and Outdoor Faculty in implementing the training programme effectively. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the prescribed training standards, ensuring timely completion of the syllabus, conducting regular assessments, and providing continuous guidance to the trainees to achieve the objectives of the Basic Recruit Training Course.
The meeting concluded with valuable suggestions and directions from the Principal for further improving the quality, effectiveness, and overall standards of training.

"Policing as a Profession"- An insightful lecture by Principal PTS Manigam.

As part of the ongoing academic and professional development programme, an evening lecture on the topic "Policing as a Profession" was delivered by the Principal, Police Training School Manigam, SSP Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan- JKPS, through a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation (PPT) for all recruit trainees.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Inspector Hussain Ahmad , who welcomed the Principal Police Training School Manigam, Assistant Principals, faculty members, and all recruit trainees. In his address, he highlighted the significance of the topic and emphasized that policing is a noble profession founded on discipline, integrity, courage, and selfless service to society. The session was attended by the Assistant Principal (Indoor), Assistant Principal (Outdoor), faculty members of Indoor/ Outdoor /and other staff of the Training School.

During the lecture, the Principal Police Training School Manigam highlighted that policing is not merely a job but a noble profession founded on the principles of integrity, discipline, honesty, courage, professionalism, accountability, and selfless service to society. He emphasized that every police officer is entrusted with the responsibility of upholding the Constitution, enforcing the law impartially, safeguarding human rights, maintaining public order, and earning the trust and confidence of the community through ethical conduct and exemplary behaviour.
The trainees were encouraged to cultivate a strong sense of duty, leadership, teamwork, physical and mental resilience, and continuous learning so that they can effectively meet the evolving challenges of modern policing. The Principal further stressed the importance of professionalism, respect for the rule of law, empathy towards citizens, and maintaining the highest standards of conduct both on and off duty.
Motivating the recruit trainees, the Principal urged them to wear the police uniform with pride, uphold the highest standards of discipline and integrity, respect the rights and dignity of every citizen, and discharge their duties with dedication, impartiality, and compassion. He encouraged them to remain physically fit, mentally resilient, and committed to lifelong learning to become competent and responsible police officers.
The PowerPoint presentation was informative, engaging, and interactive, providing the trainees with valuable insights into the ideals, ethics, and professional responsibilities of the police service. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, during which the trainees actively participated. The Principal sir inspired all the trainees to strive for excellence while upholding the highest traditions and values of the police profession.

PTS Manigam: 07 July 2026.

"A Darbar is not merely a forum for grievances; it is a platform for dialogue, trust,
and continuous improvement."

Today the Principal Police Training School Manigam, Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan- JKPS, Convened a Darbar of Trainees of 17th BRTC, with the objective of providing an open and interactive platform for trainees to raise their grievances, seek clarifications, and interact directly with the administration. The Darbar was attended by Assistant Principal Outdoor/Indoor, Faculty members of Indoor/Outdoor and other staff associated with the conduct of the training.
During the Darbar, trainees raised several issues and grievances relating to accommodation, mess facilities, welfare, and other matters concerning their day-to-day training.
The Principal patiently listened to each trainee, addressed their concerns, and resolved most of their grievances on the spot. Necessary directions were also issued to the concerned staff for the prompt redressal of the remaining issues.
The Principal congratulated the trainees on their appointment and encouraged them to maintain the highest standards of discipline, integrity, professionalism, and dedication throughout their training and future service. He also briefed the trainees in detail about the indoor and outdoor training schedules, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness, academic excellence, weapon training, drill, and overall personality development.
The trainees were motivated to actively participate in every aspect of the training programme, uphold the values of the police organization, and strive for excellence in their duties.
The Darbar concluded on a positive note, reinforcing confidence among the trainees and strengthening communication between the trainees and the training administration.

PTS Manigam: 06 July, 2026…

“PIPING CEREMONY OF RECENTLY PROMOTED OFFICIALS”

A pipping ceremony for recently promoted police personnel was held today at Police Training School Manigam. The Principal PTS Manigam SSP Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan – JKPS along with Assistant Principal Outdoor/Indoor, pinned the new ranks on the promotees and extended warm felicitations . The ceremony marked an important milestone in the careers of 08 officials who earned their promotions in recognition of their dedication and service. Seven(07) Selection grade constables got promoted to the rank of Head constable and a Constable got promoted as Selection grade Constable.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal congratulated the promoted personnel and emphasized that promotion is not only a matter of pride but also carries greater responsibility, accountability, and expectations.
The ceremony concluded with heartfelt congratulations to all the promoted officials. The faculty, staff, and fellow personnel extended their best wishes for their continued success, expressing confidence that they would discharge their enhanced responsibilities with excellence and will uphold the dignity of the police force.

As part of the preparatory activities leading up to the celebration of International Yoga Day, a Prelude Yoga Programme with theme " Yoga For Healthy Ageing" was organized at Police Training School Manigam in collaboration with the Department of Health & Medical Education, Directorate of AYUSH, District Ganderbal.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from all staff members and the recruits undergoing Basic Recruit Training Course, who actively took part in various yoga sessions conducted by experts from the AYUSH Department. The event aimed to promote awareness about the significance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance.
On the occasion, the Principal, Police Training School Manigam ,SSP Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan – JKPS addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life. He emphasized that yoga is a holistic practice that not only enhances physical health but also fosters discipline, concentration, stress management, and overall well-being. He encouraged all participants to adopt yoga as a regular lifestyle practice for achieving a healthy mind and body.
The doctors and yoga experts from the AYUSH Department also delivered informative sessions on the benefits of yoga and its role in preventive healthcare. They demonstrated various yoga asanas and breathing techniques and educated the participants about their positive impact on physical and mental health.

Police Training School Manigam Observed Plantation Drive on “ World Environment Day “..
On the occasion of World Environment Day, Police Training School Manigam organized a Plantation Drive within its premises to promote environmental awareness and reaffirm its commitment towards ecological conservation and sustainable development.
The Plantation Drive was led by the Principal, Police Training School Manigam Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan accompanied by the Assistant Principal (Administration), Assistant Principal (Outdoor/Indoor), and staff members. Large Number of saplings were planted at designated locations across the campus with the objective of enhancing green cover and fostering a cleaner and healthier environment.
Addressing the participants, the Principal emphasized the importance of environmental protection and highlighted the crucial role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, and preserving natural resources for future generations. He urged all personnel to actively contribute towards environmental conservation by adopting eco-friendly practices and ensuring the proper care and maintenance of the planted saplings..
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from staff members, who wholeheartedly joined the initiative and pledged their commitment to preserving and protecting the environment.

“Discipline in warm-up prevents disaster in workout”

Under the Guidance and Supervision of Principal Police Training School Manigam SSP Sh. Zubair Ahmad Khan – JKPS, a comprehensive lecture on Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, Nutrition, and Health Care was organized for the BRTC trainees. The session was conducted by Dr. Tahir Ahmad ( PMO PTS Manigam ), who shared valuable insights aimed at enhancing the overall physical fitness, resilience, and well-being of the trainees.
During the lecture, Dr. Tahir emphasized the importance of injury prevention during rigorous training activities, highlighting proper warm-up techniques, correct posture, and the use of appropriate equipment. Practical guidance was provided on how to minimize the risk of common training-related injuries and to maintain physical readiness.
The session also covered essential aspects of rehabilitation, stressing the need for timely medical attention, adequate rest, and structured recovery protocols to ensure quick and safe return to training after injuries.
A significant portion of the lecture focused on nutrition and health care, where trainees were educated on maintaining a balanced diet, proper hydration, and the role of nutrients in building strength, endurance, and immunity.
Dr. Tahir also discussed lifestyle practices that contribute to long-term health and peak performance. The lecture proved to be highly informative and interactive, equipping trainees with practical knowledge to take better care of their physical health while undergoing intensive training.
