In loving one, you love the whole of humanity. —Krishnamurti

Context: There is no way to love. You cannot buy it, nor can you barter it away for something else. Love must be really felt and lived. It comes into being when pleasure and pain, the sense of frustration, the sense of demanding fulfilment in another, when this sense of the ‘me’ and ‘my pleasures’ ceases. And that is one of the most difficult and arduous things. We can be sentimental over love, but that is not love. In loving one, you love the whole of humanity. But the idea of loving everybody has very little meaning if you don’t know how to love one – your child, your husband or wife, your neighbour. After all, the one is the whole.

हम अपनी ताक़त भूल चुके है । दुनिया को हमसे क्या मतलब?

जब दुनिया भारत को सिर्फ़ भूख और गरीबी से जोड़कर देखती है, तब Michelin-star Chef Vikas Khanna अपने शांत, सधे हुए शब्दों से भारत की असली तस्वीर सामने रखते हैं—एक ऐसा देश, जहाँ सदियों से भूख से पहले इंसानियत को खिलाया जाता है।
BBC World को दिए एक पुराने इंटरव्यू (2020) में एक एंकर ने उनसे पूछा कि क्या भारत में गरीबी ने उन्हें भूख की समझ दी। इस सवाल पर विकास खन्ना मुस्कराए और बेहद सादगी से जवाब दिया—“मुझे भूख की समझ भारत में नहीं आई। मैं अमृतसर में पला-बढ़ा हूँ, जहाँ बड़े-बड़े कम्युनिटी किचन यानी लंगर होते हैं। वहाँ पूरा शहर खा सकता है। भूख का असली मतलब मुझे न्यूयॉर्क आकर समझ आया, जब मैंने संघर्ष के दिन देखे।”
इस जवाब में सिर्फ़ एक शेफ नहीं, बल्कि अपनी जड़ों पर गर्व करने वाला एक भारतीय झलकता है। लंगर जैसी परंपरा, जो सदियों से बिना भेदभाव लाखों लोगों का पेट भरती आई है, उसी संस्कृति का यह आत्मविश्वास भरा जवाब था।
बाद में Instagram पर इस क्लिप को साझा करते हुए विकास खन्ना ने ऐसे असंवेदनशील सवालों पर नाराज़गी भी जताई। उन्होंने लिखा कि हर देश की अपनी खूबियाँ और चुनौतियाँ होती हैं। भारत सिर्फ़ आंकड़ों का देश नहीं, बल्कि साहित्य, विज्ञान, तकनीक, संगीत, भोजन और संस्कृति से समृद्ध एक जीवंत सभ्यता है।
विकास, आपका जवाब हमें याद दिलाता है कि ऊँचाइयों पर पहुँचकर भी अपनी संस्कृति का सम्मान करना सबसे बड़ी सफलता है।
