Cloud burst have been reported to have occured somewhere in the upstream of dam of Teesta III Chungthang. Heavy inflow with muddy water and logs are expected at Dickchu Teesta V Dam from 2.30 pm onwards. Teesta III has released 600 Cumecs of water from its Chungathang Dam wef 12.30 pm. Accordingly Teesta V have to release heavy water from dam Teesta V. People living in downstrem of Teesta V Dam specially Adarsh gaon Singtam (being low lying n adjacent to Teesta River)area may be informed by local administration to take adequate precation.Local police are being informed.
In response to this message from NHPC we have alerted all concerned local agencies in singtam and rangpo areas. General public is cautioned not to venture near the river and to be at safer places....

10-Oct-2018, Gangtok :- Today Civil Defence actively took part in Mock Drill was conducted by the Government, the Mock Drill was conducted at several parts of Gangtok, this was a preparedness training of an earth quake.
