A meeting on the ongoing Census Operations was held at the Conference Hall, GMC, Betkuchi under the chairmanship of City Census Officer, Guwahati & Additional Commissioner, GMC, Pranab Dutta Goswami, ACS.

The meeting was attended by Charge Officers, officials from the Directorate of Census Operations, Amingaon and staff of Census Cell, GMC . Discussions focused on reviewing the up-to-date field progress, preparing the 15-day action plan, and strengthening strategies for the completion of HLBs, locked houses and hilly & difficult areas.

The meeting reaffirmed the collective commitment towards ensuring comprehensive, accurate and timely Census coverage across Guwahati.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, IndusInd Bank handed over two Yodha Pickup vehicles to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).

The vehicles will be specifically utilised for the collection and transportation of garden waste from residential areas. This initiative will further strengthen GMC’s waste management efforts and contribute towards cleaner, greener and better-maintained neighbourhoods across Guwahati.

Through collaborative efforts between public institutions and corporate partners, we can build more sustainable and efficient waste management systems for the city.

Strengthening the commitment towards a cleaner, greener and waste-free Guwahati, Hon’ble DoHUA Minister Shri Kaushik Rai visited the Boragaon waste disposal site and participated in an important review meeting.

The meeting focused on waste reuse, recycling and effective utilisation of combustible waste with detailed discussions held with departmental officials on strengthening sustainable waste management practices.

A field visit was conducted by Shri Jaideep Rajak, ALRS, Charge Officer, Charge 3, along with DCO officials, covering Bansphor Colony and the hilly terrain HLB areas of Kalapani and East Gota Nagar under Charge 3, as part of the ongoing Census 2027 – Houselisting & Housing Census (HLO).
