Chief Secretary, and other senior officials of the Department. He strictly instructed all implementing agencies of various schemes to adhere to timelines and ensure quality ex*****on of works.

Hon'ble Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram ji, chaired a review meeting at Govt Guest House, Koinadhara, Guwahati, during his two days visit to the State.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ranoj Pegu,Hon'ble Minister, Tribal Affairs (Plain), Smti L. Sweety Changsan, IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary, Smti Binita Pegu, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Udayaditya Gogoi, Director, Tribal Affairs (Plain), Hemanta Pegu, MD, APTDCL, Oshwin Nampui, Joint Secretary, Department of Tribal Affairs(Plain) and other Govt officials.

During the meeting, implementation of Central Sector Schemes was reviewed in details. Hon'ble Minister offered valuable suggestions and guidance for smooth implementation of the CSS approved by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India. He also instructed to expedite implementation so that the targeted benefits could be achieved at the earliest.

Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Karbi Welfare Autonomous Council ✅
The Interim General Council of the Karbi Welfare Autonomous Council was constituted vide Notification No. E.531751/212 dated 13th March, 2026. Accordingly, the nominated members of the Interim General Council took the oath of office on 18/6/26 at the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Auditorium, Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

The ceremony was graced by Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Hon'ble Minister, Department of Tribal Affairs(Plain), Assam and Senior officials of the Department of Tribal Affairs(Plain) ,Assam including Smti L. Sweety Changsan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Smti. Binita Pegu, IAS,Commissioner & Secretary, Smti. Sushama Hazarika,ACS Secretary, Shri Udayaditya Gogoi,ACS Director and Shri Oswin Nampui,ACS ,Joint Secretary .
The oath was administered by Smti. Sushama Hazarika,ACS, Secretary, Department of Tribal Affairs (Plain).

The formation of the Karbi Welfare Autonomous council is a significant step towards strengthening governance and advancing the welfare of the Karbi community.
