Valedictory Session | Protection of Police Data & DPI for Policing

Sh. P. K. Joshi, Vice Principal, BPR&D-CDTI, Ghaziabad, graced the Valedictory Session of the training workshop on “Protection of Police Data” and “Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) & Policing”, covering key platforms such as Aadhaar, UPI, DigiLocker, UMANG and API Setu. The workshop concluded successfully today at BPR&D-CDTI, Ghaziabad.

In his valedictory address, Sh. P. K. Joshi emphasised the importance of robust data protection, secure digital infrastructure and responsible data governance in strengthening modern policing. He highlighted the need for continuous professional learning, technology-driven policing and coordinated efforts to ensure secure, accountable and effective policing in the digital .

A total of 30 officers from State/UT Police and CAPFs were participated in the workshop.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment towards secure police data, effective digital governance and technology-enabled policing.

Educational Visit of BPR&D Interns to CDTI Ghaziabad

Today, a batch of 05 interns, along with a Coordinator from BPR&D Hqrs., visited BPR&D-CDTI Ghaziabad as part of their educational visit.

Sh. P. K. Joshi, Vice Principal, BPR&D-CDTI Ghaziabad interacted with the interns and briefed them about the functioning of the Institute, training methodology, capacity-building initiatives etc.

Sh. Nutan Singh, Dy.SP, BPR&D-CDTI Ghaziabad conducted hands-on demonstrations on crime scene investigation, evidence collection and crime scene reconstructions.

The visit provided the interns with valuable insights into police training, institutional practices, and the role of CDTI in strengthening the professional capabilities of 05 pillars of the criminal justice system.

Inauguration | Protection of Data and Digital Goods

Sh. P. K. Joshi, Vice Principal, BPR&D-CDTI Ghaziabad, graced the inaugural session of the two-day training workshop on “Protection of Data and Digital Goods” which commenced today at BPR&D-CDTI, Ghaziabad.

A total of 30 officers from State/UT Police and CAPFs are participating in the workshop.

Valedictory Session | Prosecutors Training Course on Women Safety (Nirbhaya Scheme)

Smt. K. Swarnambika, IPS, Director, BPR&D-CDTI, Ghaziabad, graced the valedictory session of the training course on “Prosecutors Training Course on Women Safety (Nirbhaya Scheme)”, which concluded successfully today at BPR&D-CDTI, Ghaziabad.

In her valedictory address, Smt. K. Swarnambika, IPS, Director BPR&D-CDTI, Ghaziabad highlighted the crucial role of prosecutors in ensuring effective investigation, strong legal proceedings and timely justice in cases concerning women’s safety. She emphasised the importance of continuous professional learning, sensitivity towards survivors, and coordinated efforts among law-enforcement and prosecution agencies to strengthen the justice delivery system.

A total of 17 Prosecution Officers from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand participated in the training programme.

The programme provided an opportunity to enhance the knowledge, skills and professional capabilities of prosecutors in effectively dealing with cases related to women’s safety and justice.

Day 4 Highlights | Prosecutors Training Course on Women Safety (Nirbhaya Scheme)

Day 4 of the Prosecutors’ Training Course on Women Safety focused on psychological and prosecutorial perspectives in cases involving women and children.

Dr. Jatin Ukrani, Psychiatrist, Delhi, delivered a lecture on “Psychology of Women Victims and Criminals in R**e Cases for Holistic Justice with Case Studies.”

Ms. Sheela Chaudhary, DySP (Retd.), CDTI Ghaziabad, delivered a lecture on “Child Kidnapping, Trafficking & Exploitation – Prosecutorial Perspective.”

The sessions enriched participants’ understanding of victim psychology, offender behaviour, child protection, trafficking and effective prosecution strategies for ensuring holistic justice.

Sh. Ravindra Kumar Singh, Dy. SP CDTI, Ghaziabad delivered a lecture on “Visit of simulated Scene of Crime against women, Crime Scene Photography, collection of evidence and report writing”.

Sh. Sanjay Mishra, Cyber Expert delivered a lecture on “Digital Evidence in Crimes Against Women & Role of prosecution, Social Media, Cloud Evidence, Email, GPS, Mobile Forensics, Chain of Custody, Admissibility”.

Ms Sheela Chaudhary, DySP (Retd.), UP Police delivered lecture on “Successful case studies on women safety”.

Dr K. M. Yadav, Advocate, High Court Delhi delivered lecture on “Role of Prosecutors in Women Safety Cases under Nyaya Sanhita-2023. Prosecutor during Investigation, Consultation with IO, Evidence gaps, Filing of charge sheet, Prosecutor's advisory role”.

Dr. Mohit Chauhan, Associate Professor, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at Lady Hardinge Medical College delivered lecture on “Medical examination of Victim & accused of Sexual assault on MedlEaPR and its importance in Investigation. Testimony of Forensic Doctor. Importance of statement of Doctor / Medical expert U/S Section 39 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023”.

Smt. K. Swarnambika, IPS, Director, CDTI, Ghaziabad, graced the inaugural session of the five-day offline “Prosecutors Training Course on Women Safety (Nirbhaya Scheme)” at CDTI, Ghaziabad.

During the inaugural session, she interacted with the participating officers and emphasized the crucial role of the prosecution in ensuring an effective, victim-centric and timely response to cases relating to women’s safety. She emphasized that women’s empowerment is fundamental to national prosperity and that ensuring the safety and security of women and children must therefore remain a key priority. Drawing from her own investigative experience, she recalled a sensitive case involving the r**e and murder of a young girl, in which meticulous investigation and the collection and presentation of strong evidence ultimately resulted in the accused being sentenced to life imprisonment. She observed that this experience reinforced her faith that quality evidence is crucial to securing justice for victims. She therefore urged prosecutors to give particular attention to the quality, reliability and effective presentation of evidence, especially in cases involving women and children, so that perpetrators are brought to justice and victims receive meaningful and timely justice.

She encouraged the participants to make the best use of the training programme and to actively share their professional experiences and perspectives.
The training programme focuses on strengthening the knowledge, skills and professional competencies of prosecution officers in handling cases concerning women’s safety, with emphasis on effective investigation–prosecution coordination, relevant legal provisions, emerging challenges and best practices.

A total of 17 Prosecution Officers from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are participating in the five-day programme.
