New Labour Codes at the forefront of workers’ welfare!

Guided by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon’ble Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, to launch the Annual Free Health Check-up for workers aged above 40 years under the New Labour Codes on 7 May 2026 from ESIC Hospital, Basaidarapur, Delhi.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the 100-bedded ESIC Hospital at Doddaballapur and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the 100-bedded ESIC Hospital at Bellary, Karnataka, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment and MSME, addressed the august gathering and highlighted ESIC’s unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare.

Hon’ble Union MoS emphasized that the newly inaugurated hospital at Doddaballapur will provide quality and advanced medical facilities to Insured Persons and their dependents’ in the region, thereby strengthening access to healthcare and improving overall service delivery.

The First BRICS Employment Working Group Meeting under India's Presidency commenced virtually, today. Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, Ms. Vandana Gurnani delivered the inaugural address, welcoming esteemed delegates from Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa, and new member nations including Indonesia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and UAE. Day 1 deliberations focused on advancing social security and formalization of labour markets alongside enhancing women's participation and inclusion in the workforce across BRICS nations.
