Nambu Youth Celebrates 80th Independence Day 2026 with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm

12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU,August 15: The 80th Independence Day Celebration was held today at the Nambu Junior High School (JHS) Playground. The programme was organised by the Youth of Nambu in collaboration with Nambu Junior High School(JHS)with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm.

The programme was chaired by the Panchayat President of 12/ Nambu-Sindrabung GPU, Mr RB Limboo.The event also had the presence of Mr Krishna Subba(Limboo)AD,PRI as the Guest of Honour,along with the staff members of 12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU.

The celebration brought together members of the local community and participants to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of the nation and celebrate the spirit of unity and patriotism.

3rd Day of 80th Independence Day Celebration Continues at Nambu School ground

12/Nambu-Sindrabung GPU,August 7: The 80th Independence Day Celebration at Nambu successfully completed the third day of its festivities today at the playground of Government Junior High School, Nambu. The programme is being organised by the Youth of Nambu.

The programme was chaired by Dr Chandra Yonzon(Bhutia)and was attended by Panchayat representatives, local gentry, school staff, and the students of Government Junior High School, Nambu.

As part of the celebration, the team from 12/Nambu-Sindrabung Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) participated in a football match against Aaku 7 FC. After a closely contested match, the GPU team emerged victorious in the penalty shoot-out.

The 12/Nambu-Sindrabung GPU has been actively participating in the celebration by taking part in various events and activities, demonstrating its commitment and enthusiasm in commemorating the 80th Independence Day celebrations.

ADC(Dev)Gyalshing Inspects Ongoing Building Construction of Nambu-Sindrabung GPU

12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU, July 27:Additional District Collector (Dev),Gyalshing, Mr Surat Kumar Gurung, conducted inspection of the ongoing construction work of the 12/ Nambu Sindrabung Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) building,today.

Upon his arrival, the ADC (Dev)was received and escorted to the construction site by Panchayat President Mr RB Limboo, Assistant Director (PRI) Mr Krishna Limboo, and the Panchayat Members.

During the inspection, Mr Gurung reviewed the progress and quality of the construction work. He appreciated the smooth ex*****on of the project and expressed his satisfaction with the overall progress and development of the Gram Panchayat Unit building. He also commended the efforts of all those involved in ensuring the timely and systematic implementation of the construction work.

12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU Installs Dustbins

12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU, July 23, 2026: Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), 12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU installed 10 dustbins at various shop-dominated areas across Upper Nambu, Lower Nambu, and Rimbik Ward to promote cleanliness and proper waste management.

The installation of the dustbins was carried out by a team led by Panchayat President Shri. R. B. Limboo, accompanied by Panchayat Members Ms. Sancha Kumari Limboo and Ms. Smita Limboo, Panchayat Inspector Ms. Roshna Limboo, and GPU staff members Mr. Sunil Karki Chattri, Mr. Sancha Hang Limboo, and Mr. Bhim Bahadur Limboo.

The initiative aims to encourage proper disposal of waste, maintain cleanliness in public places, and create awareness among residents and visitors about the importance of keeping the surroundings clean and hygienic.

12/Nambu-Sindrabung GPU Inspects CC Footpath Construction Works at Nambu Wards

12/ Nambu-Sindrabung GPU, July 21: 12/ Nambu-Sindrabung GPU conducted a joint inspection of the ongoing Cement Concrete (CC) Footpath construction works being implemented under the Revamped Rural Employment Programme, Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G)at 4/Upper Nambu and 5/Lower Nambu wards ,today.

The inspection was carried out by the Panchayat President, Shri RB Limboo accompanied by Assistant Director (PRI), Shri Krishna Limboo; Panchayat Members, Ms Bhim Hangma Limboo and Mr Pasang Bhutia;Sr VAA Mr Champa Tsh Bhutia and Panchayat Inspector, Ms Roshna Limboo. The team inspected the construction works in both Upper and Lower Nambu wards, where the CC footpath works are currently in progress.

During the inspection, the Panchayat President and the AD held a detailed discussion with the concerned Mates regarding the progress of the ongoing works.They also reviewed the quality of the construction and encouraged the workers to maintain the required standards while ensuring timely completion of the project.

The field inspection concluded with a positive response, and the overall progress of the construction work was found to be satisfactory.

12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU Organises Bal Sabha

12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU,July 20: The 12/ Nambu Sindrabung Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) organised a Bal Sabha on the theme “Empowering Young Voices: Dreamers and Doers of Today” at the GPU premises, today.

The programme was attended by Panchayat President of 12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU, Shri RB Limboo;Assistant Director (PRI), Shri Krishna Limboo;Panchayat Members;Headmistress of Nambu Junior High School, Ms Arunima Pradhan; teachers and students from Nambu JHS and Rimbik Senior Secondary School; Health and Wellness Centre staff, Nambu; and the resource persons from District Panchayat Resource Centre (DPRC),Gyalshing .

The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Panchayat President, followed by an introductory speech by the Assistant Director (PRI), who explained the objectives and importance of the Bal Sabha.

The Assistant Director (PRI) highlighted that, under the 16th Finance Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), it is mandatory to include the views, opinions, and aspirations of children while preparing the GPDP. He emphasised that the Bal Sabha provides a platform for children to actively participate in the planning and decision-making process of the Gram Panchayat. In his address, he further explained the significance of the Bal Sabha in nurturing leadership qualities among children, encouraging civic engagement by introducing democratic values and processes, creating awareness about children’s rights from an early age, and promoting community participation by ensuring that every child’s voice is heard and considered in local development planning.

Further, the main session of the Bal Sabha was conducted by the team from the DPRC Gyalshing. The resource persons facilitated the session by guiding the students through the electoral process of the Bal Sabha, encouraging active participation, and ensuring that the proceedings were conducted in a democratic and interactive manner. The students from both the schools contested for the posts of Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and various Ministers. A total of 24 student ministers were elected through a democratic voting process based on the free voting of the students. The elected representatives were assigned different portfolios and responsibilities.

After assuming their respective positions, the student ministers presented their demands and suggestions on various issues, including sanitation, water management, school infrastructure and resources, mid-day meal-related concerns, etc.
All the demands and suggestions raised during the Bal Sabha were duly recorded in the minutes of the meeting. These were subsequently adopted as resolutions and incorporated into the 16th Finance GPDP for further consideration.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.

12/Nambu Sindrabung GPU Initiates Restoration of Euong Khola Road for Temporary light Motor Movement

12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU, July 19: Under the initiative of 12/ Nambu Sindrabung Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU), a temporary wooden bridge was successfully constructed over Euong Khola with the support of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), 72 Battalion SSB, Nambu, taxi drivers, the Milk Collection Centres of Tasenthang and Rimbik, and local villagers.

The road, which was blocked following heavy rainfall on the night of July 13, has now been restored for temporary light vehicular movement.

The Gram Panchayat Unit hereby informs the public that the temporary bridge has been constructed using wooden materials. Therefore, heavy vehicles are strictly prohibited, as they may pose a safety risk and damage the structure. Commuters are requested to use the wooden bridge with utmost caution. In the event of any unforeseen incident, the 12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU shall not be held responsible.

12/Nambu-Sindrabung GPU Initiates Temporary Road Construction at Euong Khola, Nambu

12/ Nambu Sindrabung GPU,July 16: The road at Euong Khola, Nambu, which was washed away due to the torrential downpour on the evening of July 14, is currently undergoing temporary restoration to ensure connectivity for the villages of Rimbik, Chongri, and Sangkhola at the earliest.

The restoration work is being carried out under the guidance of 12/Nambu Sindrabung GPU with the support from the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), RDD Gyalshing, and the active cooperation of local villagers through voluntary labour.

The work was carried out in the presence of Panchayat President Mr RB Limboo;Assistant Engineer (AE) Mr Om Prakash Gurung, and Junior Engineer (JE) Ms Hishey Gensapa from BAC Gyalshing.

At present,the vehicular movement has been halted until the road is completed. The restoration work is expected to be completed by July 20.

All residents under the GPU are requested to cooperate and comply with the temporary arrangements. Meanwhile, movement on foot is made accessible to the commuters by the log bridge constructed over the river adjacent to the damaged road.

12/Nambu Sindrabung GPU Conducts Mahila Sabha

12/Nambu Sindrabung GPU,July 14: A Mahila Sabha on the theme “Women-Friendly Panchayats” was held today at the premises of 12/Nambu Sindrabung GPU.

The Sabha was chaired by former Panchayat member Ms San Maya Limboo(Rimbik).

The programme had the presence of Panchayat President Mr RB Limboo;Assistant Director (AD,PRI) Mr Krishna Limboo; Panchayat Vice President Ms Ongmu Bhutia; Panchayat Members Ms Bhim Hangma Limboo,Ms Sancha Kumari Limboo and Mr Passang Bhutia; staff of Nambu Health and Wellness Centre (HWC); Self Help Groups (SHGs); ASHA;NGOs and Anganwadi Workers; staff from Darap Police Outpost (OP); and GPU staff.

The programme commenced with welcome address delivered by Vice President Ms Ongmu Bhutia.

Thereafter, Panchayat Development Assistant (PDA) Ms Yanzi Doma Bhutia briefed the gathering on the objectives of the programme and its benefits.

Project Planning and Monitoring Assistant(PPMA) Ms Nimzima Limboo then gave a detailed presentation on the nine themes under the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), highlighting the importance of women’s participation and encouraging them to place their opinions and demands in the Sabha for their overall well-being.

An open discussion session was held, during which several important demands were placed by the participants. The SHGs requested tailoring and beauty parlour training, along with a pickle-making training.The staff of Nambu HWC demanded for the installation of a Sanitary Napkin Disposal Machine (Incinerator). Women participants also demanded the construction of vegetable collection sheds, citing difficulties faced while waiting for transport during the rainy season.

After considering the proposals and demands placed during the Sabha, the house passed the necessary resolutions for further action.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms Hema Rai, who also served as the Master of Ceremony (MC).

12/Nambu-Sindrabung GPU Conducts Community Shramdaan at Euong Khola for Restoration of Road Connectivity

Nambu-Sindrabung GPU,July 11:Today, under the guidance and leadership of 12/Nambu Sindrabung Gram Panchayat Unit, a massive Community Shramdaan was successfully conducted at Euong Khola, where a major landslide had severely affected the road connectivity between Tesenthang, Rimbik and Sindrabung Wards.

The Shramdaan was carried out with the active participation and support of:

* Panchayat Member: Ms Sancha Kumari Limboo
* Panchayat Member: Ms Bhim Hangma Limboo

•The Samaj Presidents,public of Lower Nambu,local residents, drivers (Chalak),teachers of Rimbik SS and employees under the Government of Sikkim from the respective wards actively participated in this community effort.
Likewise, Assistant Engineer (AE) Mr. O.P. Gurung of RDD, Gyalshing District, provided support with a JCB machine under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

Due to the massive landslide, the road was temporarily closed, affecting the movement of vehicles and the general public. Through collective effort, dedication, and cooperation from all sections of the community, the affected portion was cleared and the road connectivity has been temporarily restored for public movement.

The 12/Nambu Sindrabung GPU expresses sincere gratitude to every individuals who contributed their valuable time and effort towards this noble cause.
