Curfew restrictions have been relaxed across Thoubal, Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, and Kakching districts on 11th April 2026 from 5:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

During this period, movement of persons is permitted; however, gathering of 5 or more persons and carrying of weapons or any objects that may incite violence remain strictly prohibited.

Shops and essential services are allowed to operate. All citizens are advised to strictly adhere to the guidelines and cooperate with authorities to maintain peace and public order.

The District Administrations have issued revised orders under Section 163 of BNSS, 2023, announcing partial relaxation of curfew/restrictions to facilitate essential activities while ensuring public safety.

Residents are allowed to step out from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM daily, subject to maintaining law and order.

Movement remains prohibited from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM (next day).

In a step towards strengthening renewable energy infrastructure, solar power projects under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) scheme are progressing steadily in Kakching district.

Director, Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA), Dr. Sharath Chandra Arroju, IAS and Deputy Commissioner, Kakching, Shri U. Chaitanya, IAS jointly inspected the 132/33 kV substations at Elangkhangpokpi and Kakching on April 2.

Grid-connected solar power plants of 600 kWp and 800 kWp capacities are being set up at the respective sites. During the inspection, officials reviewed project progress, addressed field-level issues, and ensured timely resolution to keep the work on track.

Officials informed that the projects are likely to be commissioned within the next 2–3 months, contributing to improved power supply and promotion of clean energy in the district.
