In the lumbar, the patient is usually asked to lie down in with his trunk flexed on one side. This allows the intervertebral spaces to open up.
Then the needle is inserted and when there’s a feeling of giveaway, it means that we have reached the lumbar cistern.

The cerebral cortex is divided into six lobes: the frontal, temporal, parietal, occipital, insular and limbic lobes. These lobes are not anatomically separated from one another by any barriers, but are physically continuous with each other, or interconnected via neural pathways in order to work together to process and synthesize information.

Here are some generalised functions of each lobe:
1) Frontal lobe: Control of voluntary movement, involved in attention, short term memory tasks, motivation, planning, speech.

2) Parietal lobe: Integrates proprioceptive and mechanoceptive stimuli, involved in language processing.

3) Temporal lobe: Decoding sensory input (visual and auditory) into derived meanings for retention of visual memory and language comprehension.

4) Occipital lobe : Center for visual processing.

5) Insular lobe: Processing and integration of taste sensation, visceral and pain sensation and vestibular functions.

6) Limbic lobe: Modulation of emotions, modulation of visceral and autonomic functions, learning, memory.

Klinefelter syndrome may adversely affect testicular growth, resulting in smaller than normal testicles, which can lead to lower production of testosterone. The syndrome may also cause reduced muscle mass, reduced body and facial hair, and enlarged breast tissue. The effects of Klinefelter syndrome vary, and not everyone has the same signs and symptoms.

Male infertility is also associated with this syndrome. Many men with Klinefelter syndrome aren't diagnosed with infertility until they realize they're unable to father a child.

This arterial anastomotic circle connects the two major arterial systems to the brain, the internal carotid arteries and the vertebrobasilar (vertebral and basilar arteries) systems. It is formed by four paired vessels and a single unpaired vessel with numerous branches that supply the brain.

The main function of the circle of Willis is to provide a collateral blood flow between the anterior and posterior arterial systems of the brain. Additionally, it offers the alternate blood flow pathways between the right and left cerebral hemispheres. This way the circle protects the brain from ischemia and stroke in cases of vascular obstruction or damage.

Prepatellar bursitis is also called housemaid's kor a carpenter's knee. A bursa is a fluid-filled sac which ensures there is less friction between body parts. The prepatellar bursa is located superficially between the skin and the patella. The inflammation of a bursa is called bursitis. This inflammation can take form by either an infectious nature (30%) or a non-infectious nature (70%). A direct fall on the patella, an acute trauma, repeated blows or friction on the knee may cause prepatellar bursitis. Other causes include infections or low-grade inflammatory conditions, such as gout, syphilis, tuberculosis or rheumatoid arthritis.

Prepatellar bursitis often occurs in specific jobs which involves a position where they work on their knees for a prolonged period of time such as miners, gardeners, carpet layers and mechanics.

After conduction of the impulse from SA Node, it travels through the internodal pathways and takes about 0.03 second.
Then, there is a delay of another 0.09 second in the AV Node itself before the impulse enters the penetrating portion of AV Node.
Finally, a delay of 0.04 seconds occur through this penetrating portion leading the total to 0.13 seconds.
This delay in addition with the initial 0.03 second from the sinus node, makes a total of 0.16 second before the excitatory signal finally reaches the contracting muscle of the ventricles.
