ICMR-National Institute of Health Research Jabalpur, organised a Hands-on Workshop on Sanger Sequencing from 20th–23rd May 2026.
The inaugural session was addressed by Dr. Praveen K. Bharti, Director, ICMR-NIHR, Jabalpur who highlighted the significant role of Sanger Sequencing in the advancement of modern genomics and healthcare applications. Dr. K.B.Saha, Scientist-G emphasized the importance of training programmes in capacity building and strengthening research activities at the national level.
The workshop was also graced by Dr. S. Aparna Srikantam, Dean & Professor, School of Allied Health Sciences, Malla Reddy University, Hyderabad, along with Dr. Ankit Bharti and Dr. Archana Chaudhari from Dermatology Research Centre, Vyara, Gujarat.
Participants from various institutions across India, along with project staff and students of ICMR-NIHR, Jabalpur actively participated in the workshop and showed keen interest in understanding both the fundamental and applied aspects of sequencing techniques through the hands-on training sessions. The valedictory session was organised during which certificates and mementos were distributed to the participants. The entire workshop was well coordinated by Dr. Pushpendra Singh, Scientist-F, ICMR-NIHR, Jabalpur.
