As a citizen activist, I believe in calling out failure just as loudly as I applaud success β because the people deserve both truth and justice.
π First, a well-deserved round of applause for District Hospital Ganderbal, which has topped the entire J&K in Kayakalp External Assessment 2025-2026 with an exceptional score of 94.92, registering an incredible improvement of 22.3 points over last year β earning the prestigious WINNER title among all District Hospitals! I have always maintained that credit must go where it is genuinely earned, and today I stand without any hesitation to salute every doctor, nurse, paramedic, sanitation worker and every single staff member of DH Ganderbal who worked tirelessly to achieve this milestone (especially MS ). This is not just an institutional achievement β this is a service to humanity, a service to the people of Ganderbal. This is exactly the kind of commitment our public health system needs. Well done and keep it up! ππ It CELL DH GBL
But as an activist, I cannot stop at applause alone. My job is also to ask the uncomfortable questions β the questions that the system would rather you not ask.
Why is SC Kurhama (PHC Kurhama) NOWHERE to be found in the Kayakalp 2025-2026 qualified facilities list? Not among District Hospitals. Not among CHCs. Not among PHCs. Not even in the lowest category. Nowhere. Zero presence. Zero qualification.
This is not a small oversight. This is a glaring red flag that directly exposes how the concerned Health Block Administration has been running β or rather, failing to run β this health facility. The people of Kurhama are also citizens of this nation. They also pay taxes. They also deserve clean, functional, and dignified healthcare. But where is the accountability?
I am formally and publicly demanding that the higher authorities, the concerned Office of Chief Minister, J&K , and the Health Department take HIGH-LEVEL notice of the condition of SC/PHC Kurhama and initiate an immediate inquiry into why this facility continues to remain below any measurable standard of quality healthcare.
The people of Kurhama are watching. And so am I. π
