*Name of post:* Assistant Teacher (LP) & Assistant Teacher (UP)
*No of posts: 4500 posts*
# Lower Primary: 2900 posts
# Upper Primary: 1600 posts
*Name of department:* Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam
*Scale of pay:* Pay Band - 2 (PB-2) @ Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- plus Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible as per âThe Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019â.
*District-wise vacancy:* The district-wise, medium-wise and category-wise break-up of vacancies showing the reservation for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen etc. be notified & updated in due course of time.
*Eligibility Criteria for DEE LP UP Teacher Recruitment*
*Nationality:* Candidates must be a Permanent Resident of Assam .
*Age Limit:* A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years as on 1st January 2025.
*Age Relaxation:* The Category-wise age relaxation for different categories are as mentioned below:
# Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
# OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
# SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
# Persons with Disability (PwD): 10 years
*Small Family Norms:* No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from a single or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms .
*Medium of Instruction:* Either the Language-I or the Language-II of both ATET and CTET candidates shall match the medium of instruction of the school, wherein the candidate wishes to apply
*ATET/ CTET Qualification:* The candidates who have passed ATET/ CTET for Lower Primary / Upper Primary will be eligible for applying.
*Educational Qualification: Post-wise educational qualifications for each posts are as mentioned below.*
*Assistant Teacher (LP) Qualification:*
# Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
# Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary School.
*Assistant Teacher (UP) Qualification:*
# Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
# Graduate from the UGC-recognized University.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
# Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
*Science Teacher (UP) Qualification:*
# Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
# B.Sc. from the UGC recognized University.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
# Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
*Hindi Teacher (UP)**Qualification:*
# Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
# Graduate with Hindi as one of the subjects from the UGC-recognized University.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
# Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
