⨠International Womenâs Day 2026 Celebration at Government General Degree College, Kalna - Iâ¨
The International Womenâs Day 2026 programme was successfully conducted at Government General Degree College, Kalna-I, organised by the Women Empowerment Cell in association with IQAC. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both teachers and students, making the session lively and engaging.
We were honoured to have Dr. Malini Siddhanta, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Lady Brabourne College, as the keynote speaker, who delivered an insightful lecture in online mode on âPerformers versus Artists: In the male-dominated spectrum of North Indian Classical Music, the revival of Annapurna Deviâs artistry.â Her talk inspired the audience and highlighted the remarkable contribution of women in classical music.
The programme began with a beautiful opening song by Sumana Rudra (Dept. of Bengali, 4th Sem), followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. Chiranjib Bandyopadhyay, Officer-in-Charge, GGDC Kalna-I. A thoughtful recitation âAami Sei Meyeâ by Arpita Tudu (Dept. of English, 4th Sem) added artistic depth to the programme.
We sincerely thank Dr. Asitanga Ghosh, Associate Professor & IQAC Co-ordinator, for delivering the concluding remarks, and Dr. Priyanka Maity Das, Teachersâ Council Secretary, for the vote of thanks.
The session was efficiently moderated by Dr. Anirban Banerjee, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
đ Heartfelt thanks to all the speakers, organisers, teachers, and students whose active participation made the event meaningful and successful.
