MPEDA Sub-Regional Division, Kakinada conducted an awareness campaign on 25 August 2026 at D. Ravulapalem, Andhra Pradesh, focusing on Best Management Practices, AquaTrace farm enrolment and species diversification in aquaculture.

The campaign engaged 35 progressive farmers, highlighting sustainable farming practices, regulatory compliance, and the importance of maintaining the safety and quality of aquaculture produce. Farmers were also guided on the AquaTrace enrolment process.

MPEDA Sub-Regional Division, Tuticorin participated in the AICCI National Startup Summit 2026, held on 20โ€“21 August at Thoothukudi, showcasing MPEDAโ€™s activities, schemes and initiatives supporting the marine products and seafood export sector.

Bringing together startups, entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders, the summit spotlighted innovation, entrepreneurship and global market opportunities, reinforcing Thoothukudiโ€™s potential as a hub for fisheries, seafood exports, logistics and technology-driven businesses.

MPEDA Regional Division, Bhubaneswar, conducted a training programme on 18 August 2026 at Balasore under the Trusted Operator Initiative, focused on strengthening the capacity of samplers for Pre-Harvest Test (PHT) sampling at aquaculture farms.

With 30 participants from 14 seafood processing plants, the programme combined technical training with hands-on practical exposure at a shrimp farm in Balasore.

The initiative strengthens sampling capacity, promotes compliance and supports Odishaโ€™s seafood exporters in accessing global markets, including the EU and UK.
