Patients arrived carrying years of pain, difficulty walking, spinal deformities, and unanswered concerns. Through detailed assessments and consultations, the team successfully performed 13 surgeries during the camp helping patients move one step closer to relief and recovery.

Dr. Nitin Shetty, Consultant Spine Surgeon from London and part of The Spine Foundation, also joined the camp contributing his expertise alongside the TSF team.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the team who made this possible:

He had already undergone spine surgery once.
Then came another fall.
And slowly, the pain returned again this time affecting both his back and legs.

For many patients, revision spine surgery is not just physically difficult.
It is emotionally exhausting too.

After temporary relief from conservative treatment, fresh scans revealed osteoporotic fractures and severe spinal compression affecting his mobility and daily life.

At the Spine Foundation camp at Sub-District Hospital, Kankavli, the team performed a complex revision spine surgery involving decompression, fixation, and fusion a technically demanding procedure that took nearly 4 hours.

But sometimes, difficult surgeries become the only path back to movement, stability, and relief.

Because behind every complex spine case is someone simply trying to live without pain again. ๐Ÿ’š

A spine camp may last a few days.
But for many patients, the impact changes years of pain.

At the Sub-District Hospital, Kankavli, The Spine Foundation witnessed something powerful patients who once struggled to stand, walk, or move independently slowly taking their steps again.

The Healing Journal captures these moments of recovery, resilience, and hope stories of people reclaiming confidence after living silently with chronic spine conditions for years.

Because when the right treatment reaches the right people at the right time, healing becomes possible. ๐Ÿ’š

Every patient story reminds us why accessible spine care matters.

What started as a fall from a tree turned into years of pain for Pradeep.

After his spine injury, even simple movements like walking or sitting became painful. A previous surgery had not given him relief, and the struggle continued for years.

During The Spine Foundation camp at Government Medical College and Hospital, Nandurbar- Maharashtra, Pradeep underwent further spine treatment and surgery.

Today, he is recovering well and able to move with much less pain.

Through initiatives like these, The Spine Foundation continues to bring specialised spine care closer to rural communities where access to treatment is often limited.

Case Insight by Dr Tarak Patel:

At 82 years old, the patient had stopped walking due to severe pain and weakness in both legs.

For more than a year, even basic movement had become difficult, significantly affecting his independence and daily life.

During The Spine Foundation camp at Shri Vagad Welfare Hospital, Bhachau, Gujarat- detailed evaluation revealed severe spinal stenosis and instability requiring surgical intervention.

The patient underwent spinal decompression and stabilisation surgery and is now under post-operative recovery and observation.

Cases like these highlight how timely spine care can help restore mobility and improve quality of life, even in elderly patients who have been struggling for years.

In remote regions like Sittilingi, Tamil Nadu, specialised spine care is not always within reach.

For many people in tribal communities, pain is often managed quietly for years because access to diagnosis, treatment, and expert care remains limited.

At Tribal Health Initiative (THI), Sittilingi, The Spine Foundation conducted consultations and surgeries, helping bring specialised spine care closer to the people who need it most.

2 surgeries were successfully performed during the camp.

Because in places where healthcare is difficult to access, even timely treatment for a few patients can change entire families.

Healing is not always loud.

Sometimes, it begins quietly in a hospital room, with someone standing a little straighter after years of pain.

At SEARCH Hospital, Gadchiroli - Maharashtra, patients from remote tribal communities received specialised spine care that many had waited years to access.

This Healing Journal is a reflection of those journeys, of resilience, recovery, and the impact of reaching the last mile with care.
