Truck Driver Killed in Udhampur Road Accident
Udhampur, May 31: A truck bearing registration number JK02AE-0178 met with a tragic accident near Dewal Bridge in Udhampur at around 1:30 AM on Sunday. The driver, Sajad Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Nabi Malik and a resident of Mataygund, Dooru, died on the spot.

Anti-Encroachment Drive Held in Kulgam’s Kund; 22 Kanals of State Land Retrieved

Kulgam April 07: In a major anti-encroachment drive conducted in the Kund belt of Qazigund in Kulgam district, authorities successfully retrieved 22 kanals of state land at multiple locations, said Naib Tehsildar Kund, Irshad Ahmad.

The operation was carried out with the active assistance of SHO Kund along with his team and revenue officials.

He said, that several complaints had been received regarding illegal occupation of state land by locals. He emphasized that state land is public property meant for public welfare and cannot be used for personal purposes.

He further added that such anti-encroachment drives will continue in the future wherever state land is identified. “We have already identified land for a couple of government projects, and retrieval efforts will continue in the coming days,”
