Aman Ke Liye IITB is against any kind of discrimination on grounds of caste, gender, class, religion, region, language and occupation. One of the foremost concern of group is the dignity and rights of labourers working in the campus - on the construction sites, in the mess, on the campus streets, in our hostels, departments, infinity corridor, hospital etc. These workers toil for meagre wages to
make our campus a liveable place. Their service is crucial for all of us - be it faculty, students or staff, in order to have a smooth academic and a comfortable life in this campus. invisible and a voiceless community of our campus. Aman Day Care Centre, which is a creche facility running for children of construction workers, is one of the fruits of our collective efforts. Around 70 children in the range of age from few months old to 14 years old attend the centre, where they get safe shelter when their parents are at construction sites, nutritious diet, education, and of course friends and toys to play. Children above 5 years are admitted to a formal school (Powai Municipal School) by orienting their parents about the importance of formal education. Currently through the day care centre, we have admitted nearly 30 children to Powai municipal school.
