India’s maritime growth is not on the horizon — it’s already underway.
That was the resounding message at CMMI Maritime Potpourri 2026, where policymakers, maritime leaders, industry experts, and seafaring professionals converged under the theme “Rising Maritime India: Unlocking Growth & Emerging Opportunities.”
The Company of Master Mariners of India was honoured to host Shri Sushil Mansing Khopde, IPS, Additional Director General of Shipping, as Chief Guest. His address made one thing clear: India’s maritime future depends on building a resilient, future-ready ecosystem today.
Keynote addresses by Capt. Unmesh Abhayankar and Mr. Rajeev Nayyer set the stage on:
🔹 Future of Shipbuilding in India
🔹 Ports Development & Investments
A high-powered panel — Mr. Nebu Oommen, Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Capt. Sandeep Dhaul, Capt. Shailesh Bhambhani, and Capt. Gaurav Bajaj, moderated by Capt. Pankaj Kumar (Secretary General, CMMI) — tackled the question every stakeholder is asking:
🔹 Training the Seafarer for the Future
None of this happens without vision behind the scenes. Our sincere thanks to Capt. Mahendra Bhasin, Chairman, CMMI, and the Seminar Committee led by Capt. Amandeep Balla and Capt. Kaustubh Pradhan, for the planning and ex*****on that brought it all together.
India’s rise as a global maritime powerhouse won’t be written by one sector alone. It will take government, industry, academia, and seafarers rowing in the same direction — and Maritime Potpourri 2026 proved that conversation is already happening.
To our Chief Guest, speakers, panellists, delegates, partners, sponsors, and participants — thank you for steering this dialogue forward. The tide is turning for Indian maritime, and we’re proud to help lead it.
⚓ The wave has already started. Let’s ride it together. ⚓
