On 28th March 2026, Sakhi – One Stop Centre Pulwama, in collaboration with SANKALP – Hub for Empowerment of Women and the District Legal Services Authority Pulwama, organized an awareness program at Women’s Degree College Pulwama on the POSH Act, 2013. The session aimed to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment by educating participants about various forms of sexual harassment and their legal rights. Resource persons explained key provisions of the Act, including the role of Internal Complaints Committees (ICC), confidentiality, timely grievance redressal, and protection against retaliation. The complaint mechanism was also discussed, encouraging individuals to report incidents without fear. The program reinforced the importance of collective responsibility in upholding dignity, equality, and mutual respect at the workplace.

International Women’s Day Celebrated at Town Hall Pulwama, March 10, 2026:

International Women’s Day was celebrated at Town Hall Pulwama under the guidance of Mr. Azhar Amin (JKAS), District Social Welfare Officer Pulwama, along with his team. The programme was organized by the Social Welfare Department Pulwama.
The event witnessed participation from various welfare units including SAKHI – One Stop Centre Pulwama, Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Child Helpline, and the District Child Protection Unit.
The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Burida Majeed, District Programme Officer Pulwama, along with ASI Shaista (Police Station Pulwama) and officials from different departments. The event also saw active participation from Social Welfare Department staff, ICDS Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers, ASHA Workers, and other stakeholders.
On the occasion, DSWO Pulwama, Mr. Azhar Amin, highlighted various initiatives and welfare schemes aimed at empowering women, particularly those implemented through the One Stop Centre Pulwama and the Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women. He emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional support systems to ensure safety, dignity, and empowerment of women.
Officials from different departments also shared their perspectives on the importance of gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the collective responsibility of society to promote the rights and well-being of women.
During the programme, women achievers from District Pulwama were felicitated and prizes were distributed in recognition of their achievements and contributions to society.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting awareness, empowerment, and equal opportunities for women across all spheres of life.

Today i.e. on 08/01/2026, Sakhi – One Stop Centre (OSC), Pulwama organized an awareness programme at Anganwadi Centre (AWC), Scklu Pakherpora to sensitize the community about the services provided by the One Stop Centre for women in distress.
The programme was attended by Supervisor Ms. Sarwa jee, Anganwadi Worker's (AWW's), Helpers, and members of the local community. Participants were informed about the range of assistance services available at the OSC, which include:
Police Assistance,
Counselling Services
Legal Aid
Emergency Rescue
Medical Assistance and
Shelter Facility.
Emphasis was laid on the importance of timely reporting and seeking support in cases of violence, abuse, or emergency situations. The role of the OSC in providing integrated support services under one roof was also explained.
At the conclusion of the programme, informational posters were distributed, and emergency helpline numbers were shared with the participants.

On 08/01/2026, Sakhi – One Stop Centre (OSC), Pulwama organized an awareness programme at Anganwadi Centre (AWC) Khaigam with the objective of sensitizing the community about the services provided by the One Stop Centre.
