BHAGAVANUVACHA :
He who respects the commands of his mother and follows them sincerely will come up in life, Those who disregard the advice of their mother will never be successful in their life. Even in foreign countries, people like Abraham Lincoln attained high positions by obeying the commands of their mothers and by developing self- confdence. . Follow her advice wholeheartedly. Develop the quality of implicit obedience to the wishes of your mother, without a second thought. Then only will your life be peaceful.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, FRIDAY, MAY 20, 2016

Why is it important to lead a sacred life? Bhagawan, our Loving God, explains and instructs how to sanctify our body.

In the Gita, our body is described as the Kshetra and the Lord who resides in it is called the Kshetragna. Devotees who have a sacred heart and who entertain sacred thoughts go on pilgrimage to sacred places (also called Kshetras). They are undertaking a pilgrimage to such centres only because they believe those places to be sacred. If they are not sacred, there is no need for them to undertake such a pilgrimage at such expense of money and energy. As in this analogy, because the human body is sacred people establish connections between each other. If truly the body of an individual does not undertake a sacred task and lead a sacred life, no one will want to have any relationship with it. Therefore anyone who claims to keep the body sacred should make an attempt to indulge only in good actions, good thoughts, and good deeds.

When people realize they are pilgrims in the Godward path, they will heartily agree and lovingly co-operate with each other. – BABA.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2016

What is the purpose of sacrifice in our spiritual progress? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today.

The Vedas advocate us to sacrifice everything, and through sacrifice we would be able to have vision of the Divine within. The creation and its maintenance depends only on sacrifice. If there is no sacrifice, there will be no life, and the society will not remain intact. Even from a worldly perspective, if we do not give out the breath that we take in, we cannot live. If blood is not constantly flowing from one place to another every instant, we cannot live. Unless the clouds give up the water they have gathered, they cannot remain as clouds. That is why it is said, what you cannot get by your knowledge and effort can be got by sacrifice. If we think that something is good and welcome it, some bad too may come in the process. That which gives you happiness when it comes will also cause sorrow when it goes away from you. Whether it is the good or the bad, we have to sacrifice continuously.

- Summer Showers in Brindavan, 1974, Vol 1, Ch 2.

Desire destroys devotion, anger destroys wisdom, greed destroys work – hence these bad qualities must be sacrificed.-BABA.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, SUNDAY, MAY 1, 2016

What should we do to develop into sacred ones? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today.

We talk a lot about discipline. Simply to keep on talking about discipline and not have the strength and faith to accept discipline is not going to do any good. Today, unfortunately, even persons who claim to be, and boast of being highly educated, appear as weaklings in practical life. Such people do not understand the value of true education. You must be prepared to put into practice one out of the ten things that you preach, in preference to just saying ten good things. To discipline and duty we should also add devotion. It is only when these three D’s—Discipline, Devotion, and Duty—are together and firmly implanted in your heart, that your heart will be able to develop into a sacred one.

- Divine Discourse, Summer Roses on Blue Mountains, 1976, Ch 1

You must gladly subject yourself to the hammer of discipline and the chisel of pain-pleasure, so that you become Divine. - BABA.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, SATURDAY, APRIL 30, 2016

What is the barometer of a true divine life? Bhagawan explains to us in crystal clear terms to us today.

Righteousness (Dharma) is the basis for the entire Universe. A true human being is one who practices the principle of dharma. Burning is the dharma of fire. Many often use the word dharma without knowing its true nature and majesty. Coolness is the dharma of ice. Fire is no fire without burning. Ice is no ice without coolness. Similarly, the dharma of a human lies in performing actions with the body and following the commands of the heart. Every act performed with thought, word, and deed in harmony is a dharmic act! A dharmic life is a divine life! This dharma of the heart is supreme and verily the dharma of life. You must achieve unity in thought, word, and deed at all costs.

- Summer Showers Ch2, May 20, 1996.

Fullness in life is marked by the harmony of thought, word and deed.-BABA.

All are actors on the world stage, in His Play. Every atom is surcharged with His Power, His Might, His Glory. Every being is surcharged with His Bliss, His Beauty, His Goodness. Do not claim that you are using some skill or force which is specially yours; it has come out of His Grace, His Compassion.

Swami says:

WHEN the Dharma of the Age is laid aside to establish it anew, through loving means; when the World is polluted by conflict and confusion, to restore the path of virtue and peace; when good men caught in cruel coils wail, to save them from pain and shame; when sacred texts are not grasped aright, to proclaim the message they teach mankind; to relieve the earth of the burden of Vice, to fulfill the promise made in the Tretha Age; Achutha has incarnated on this earth; Vasudeva, Srihari, has come into the World.

The Path to Peace and Happiness
Thought for the Day - This Day That Year

Men crave for peace and happiness but they do things which can only bring unhappiness and worry. Having been born as human beings, you should try to rise above the level of animals. You are all essentially sparks from the Divine, but like sparks coming from a furnace which after a time turn into ash, you are forgetting your divine origin. While pursuing your education for worldly purposes, you should also pursue the spiritual discipline, which will lead you to the Divine."
