In continuation of drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Ramban Police apprehended one person and recovered Cannabis(Charas) like Substance from his Possession.
A team of Police Station Ramban while on Patrolling / checking duty at Cafteria Morh Ramban, intercepted an individual moving in suspicious circumstances. On questioning the person disclosed his identity as Balvinder Sharma son of Jagan Nath Sharma resident of Jhakhani near Talab Tehsil and District Udhampur. During the process of checking approx 200 grams of Cannabis(Charas) like substance was recovered from his possession .On this,case FIR No 209/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stand registered at PS Ramban.The above named person has been taken into police custody and Contraband seized by observing all legal formalities required under the Law.The investigation of the case is underway to establish the backward and forward linkages.Ramban police is committed to ensure zero tolerance against substance abuse and its promotors.

Ramban Police Rescue Nomad Families Trapped in Snowfall at Zaban Top,Banihal

In a prompt and coordinated rescue operation, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer Banihal, Station House Officer Banihal, Incharge Police Post Jawahar Tunnel, and the Special Operations Group Banihal successfully rescued members of nomad families who were trapped due to sudden snowfall at Zaban Top Banihal.

Upon receiving the information, the joint police teams immediately launched a rescue mission, braving harsh weather conditions and navigating through difficult terrain. Their swift action led to the safe evacuation of eight (08) individuals along with their livestock and belongings, who were then shifted to a safer location.

The timely and effective response of the Ramban Police averted potential loss of precious human lives and livestock. This operation is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the District Police Ramban towards ensuring the safety and well-being of the public, particularly in remote and high-altitude regions prone to adverse weather conditions.

The District Police appeals to all citizens and nomadic families to exercise caution during the seasonal return journey of deras, especially along routes that are susceptible to heavy snowfall.

Ramban Police Arrest Two Bootleggers with Illicit Liquor in Ramban

Ramban, October 4, 2025:
In a continued crackdown on the illegal sale of intoxicants, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two bootleggers in separate incidents within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramban. The action was taken as part of an intensified drive against illicit liquor, launched on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Shri Arun Gupta JKPS

In the first case, a police party from PS Ramban, while on routine patrolling duty, apprehended one Kuldeep Singh, son of Jaswant Singh, a resident of Bali, Gandhi, Tehsil and District Ramban. The accused was caught illegally selling liquor in the Bowli Bazar area.

Upon search, the police recovered the following from his possession:
• 750 ml – 08 bottles
• 350 ml – 19 bottles
• 250 ml – 10 bottles
• Beer (600 ml) – 06 bottles

A case under FIR No. 206/2025 has been registered against him under Section 48(a) of the Excise Act at Police Station Ramban. Investigation in the matter is currently ongoing.

In a separate incident, another bootlegger identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Mohinder Kumar, resident of Village Natral, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu, was apprehended by the Police Party of PS Ramban. He was also found illegally selling liquor.

The following quantities were recovered from his possession:
• 375 ml – 19 bottles
• 180 ml – 49 bottles

A case under FIR No. 207/2025 has been registered against him under Section 48(a) of the Excise Act at Police Station Ramban. Further investigation is underway.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have reiterated their commitment to continue the drive against illegal liquor and urged the public to report such activities for the safety of the public.

Pipping Ceremony Held at District Police Office Ramban

A pipping ceremony was held today at the District Police Office Ramban to honor and officially induct newly promoted Sub-Inspectors (SIs) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the professional journeys of the officers.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Shri Arun Gupta (JKPS), presided over the event and personally decorated the promotees with their new ranks. DySP Headquarters and DySP DAR were also present in the ceremony, who congratulated and extended best wishes to the newly promoted officers.

In his address, SSP Ramban highlighted the enhanced responsibility and accountability that comes with promotion. He urged the officers to serve with utmost dedication, uphold professionalism, and adopt a public-centric approach in all their duties. RAMBAN POLICE APPREHEND KINGPIN OF INTER-STATE/UT GANG TARGETING RELIGIOUS PLACES

In a significant breakthrough, Ramban Police has successfully apprehended a notorious kingpin, Mohd Aslam Kasana, S/O Beer Mohd Kasana R/O Satoora, Hiranagar, Kathua who heads the syndicate habitual of thefts at religious places.The arrest was made by a dedicated police team from Police Station Batote.

The accused, Mohd Aslam Kasana, has been identified as the mastermind behind a series of thefts across various districts. The gang has the modus operandi of specifically targeting religious places, including temples and gompas thereby creating widespread public concern.

Following a specific intelligence input, a special team from PS Batote laid a strategic trap and apprehended the accused. Upon preliminary interrogation, he admitted his involvement in multiple criminal cases across different jurisdictions the

Ramban Police Launches Grand Cleanliness Drive under “Seva Parv- Swachhata Hi Seva 2025” Campaign

In a remarkable initiative to promote cleanliness and hygiene, Ramban Police, organized a district-wide cleanliness drive on Sunday as part of the “Seva Parv- Swachhata Hi Seva 2025” campaign.
The drive was spearheaded by SSP Ramban at the District Police Office (DPO) Ramban and extended across all police establishments, including DPL Ramban, police stations, police posts, and pickets throughout the district. SSP Ramban Conducts Meeting with Hoteliers on Management of Illegal Immigrants – Guidelines for Filing Form-C

In a proactive initiative to track and prevent illegal activities by foreign nationals, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban convened a meeting with hoteliers, PG facility owners, and other lodging service providers at the District Police Office (DPO) Ramban.

The primary objective of the meeting was to create awareness among the accommodation providers regarding the mandatory filing of Form-C/Form-S for every foreign national accommodated in their premises, in strict compliance with the provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946.

Key Guidelines Discussed:
1. Mandatory Filing of Form-C:
• All Hotels, Hospitals, Dharamshalas, Hostels, and similar establishments are required to fill Form-C online within 24 hours of accommodating any foreign national, as mandated under Para 7 of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
2. Legal Obligation:
• As per Section 7 of the Act, Form-C must be submitted by all hospitality providers through official portals:
👉 indianfrro.gov.in / boi.gov.in
• Non-compliance can result in imprisonment up to 5 years and a monetary fine under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
3. Applicability:
• The requirement applies to all forms of accommodation including hotels, lodges, home stays, hospitals, hostels, universities, and private residences offering accommodation to foreign nationals.
4. Essential Details in Form-C:
• Arrival and departure dates
• Photograph and valid ID proof
• Valid passport and visa details
• Purpose of visit (to be included in the remarks section)
• Name and mobile number of Indian reference
• Further travel itinerary/destinations
5. Visas Covered:
• The obligation extends to all foreigners irrespective of visa category – Tourist, Business, Employment, Medical, Conference, Project, Research, Journalist, Intern, etc.
6. Visitor Register Maintenance:
• All hosts must maintain a separate visitor register recording accurate arrival and departure details of each foreign guest.
7. Reporting Suspicious Activity:
• In case of any suspicious behavior or irregularities involving foreign guests, immediate reporting must be done to the Police Control Room Ramban on the following numbers:
