𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗜, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟬𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Reasi Police organized a large-scale Tree Plantation Drive across the district, reaffirming its commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The plantation drive was led by DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range and SSP Reasi, who planted saplings and highlighted the importance of collective efforts in protecting and preserving the environment. Senior officers, including Addl. SP Katra, SDPO Katra, along with other officers and personnel of Reasi Police, actively participated in the programme and planted saplings.

As part of the drive, a variety of saplings were planted at Police Station Katra and various Police Stations, Police Posts and police establishments across the district with the objective of promoting a greener, cleaner and healthier environment.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Reasi emphasized that environmental protection is a shared responsibility and called upon all sections of society to actively participate in plantation drives and other eco-friendly initiatives. He stressed the need for sustained efforts to preserve ecological balance, enhance biodiversity, and spread environmental awareness among the public.

The officers also encouraged citizens to adopt environmentally responsible practices and contribute towards building a sustainable future for coming generations.

Reasi Police remains committed not only to maintaining law and order but also to undertaking initiatives aimed at public welfare, environmental protection, and sustainable development. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟬𝟰: Continuing its sustained efforts against the menace of narcotics under the ongoing 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗺𝘂 & 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗵𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻, Reasi Police achieved another success by apprehending two drug peddlers and recovering he**in (chitta) from their possession.

On 03.06.2026, during routine patrolling and naka checking near Municipality Parchi Counter at Matyal, a Police party of Police Station Katra intercepted and searched two suspicious persons who were identified as Rakesh kumar S/O Bishan Dass R/O Nagrota and Manjeet kour W/O Late Harpreeet Singh R/O Amritsar. During the search approximately 2 .0 gm chitta was recovered from Rakesh kumar and Approximately 1.9 gm chitta was recovered from the possession of Manjeet kour

In total, 3.9 grams of he**in (chitta) was recovered from the possession of the accused persons.

During verification, it surfaced that accused Rakesh Kumar is a habitual offender and previously also remained involved in the following cases registered at Police Station Katra:

1. FIR No. 219/2022 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act.
2. FIR No. 67/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
3. FIR No. 113/2025 U/S 3/181, 146, 196 MV Act and 281, 125(a) BNS.
4. FIR No. 157/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act.

Similarly, accused Manjeet Kaur is also found involved in a previous NDPS case vide FIR No. 157/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Katra.

Both accused have been arrested on the spot and contraband substance has been seized as per legal procedures.

In this regard, FIR No. 169/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway to ascertain the backward and forward linkages of the narcotics network.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟬𝟯: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗺𝘂 & 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗵𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻, Reasi Police achieved another significant success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering contraband substance from his possession.

Today, during naka checking at Simbal Choa near Ziarat Baba Karam Shah, a police party of Police Station Reasi intercepted and apprehended one person identified as Gurbachan Singh S/o Baldev Singh R/o Bhabber, Reasi. During his personal search, approximately 80 grams of an o***m was recovered from his possession.

Acting swiftly, Reasi Police registered FIR No. 101/2026 under Section 8/18 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Reasi and initiated further investigation into the matter.

Verification of the accused's criminal antecedents revealed his involvement in multiple criminal cases in the past, including theft, excise, NDPS and other offences. The accused has previously been involved in the following cases:

1. FIR No. 24/2005 U/S 379/342 RPC, PS Dharmsal.

2. FIR No. 50/2008 U/S 379 RPC, PS Reasi.

3. FIR No. 70/2008 U/S 379 RPC, PS Katra.

4. FIR No. 28/2016 U/S 48(e)(f) Excise Act, PS Reasi (challaned before court on 12.03.2016).

5. FIR No. 173/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act, PS Katra.

6. FIR No. 100/2023 U/S 353 IPC (challaned before Addl. Special Mobile Magistrate Court on 08.09.2023).

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟬𝟯: As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen policing standards, improve service delivery, and enhance the quality of investigations, SSP Reasi conducted a comprehensive inspection of Police Station Reasi and subsequently chaired a detailed Crime Review Meeting with officers and investigating staff of the police station and its subordinate units.

During the inspection, the SSP thoroughly reviewed the functioning and upkeep of various sections of the police station, including the CCTNS Room, Women Help Desk, Malkhana, Kot, Lock-up, Barracks, Mess, and Investigation Officers' Chambers. He inspected records, infrastructure, cleanliness, and the overall functioning of these facilities, issuing necessary directions for further improvement wherever required.

Following the inspection, SSP Reasi chaired a Crime Review Meeting attended by the Addl. SP Reasi, Dy.SP Headquarters Reasi, and officers and officials of Police Station Reasi, Police Post Talwara, Police Post Dera Baba, Police Post Jyotipuram, and Police Post Tote Sarhi. The meeting focused on reviewing crime trends, the progress of investigations, disposal of pending inquests and cases within prescribed timelines, and the implementation of various technological initiatives aimed at modernizing policing. Special emphasis was also laid on tracing missing persons and apprehending absconders on priority.

While reviewing NDPS cases under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, SSP Reasi stressed the need for strict compliance with guidelines relating to cancellation of Driving Licences and Registration Certificates, attachment of properties acquired through illicit proceeds, disposal of seized conveyances, cancellation of passports, and other measures envisaged in the SOP issued by the Home Department. He further directed all Investigating Officers to identify habitual and repeat drug offenders and initiate appropriate action under the PIT-NDPS Act wherever warranted.

SSP Reasi also emphasized the importance of completing investigations within the prescribed 60-day and 90-day timelines. He directed all Investigating Officers to closely monitor pending investigations and make concerted efforts for their timely disposal while ensuring adherence to the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.

The SSP reviewed the implementation of the e-Sakshya platform, e-Summons system, and the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD), directing officers to make effective use of these digital tools to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in policing. He also instructed all Investigating Officers to ensure timely and accurate filling of all relevant Investigation Information Forms (IIFs) in the CCTNS system.

He further instructed supervisory officers and Investigating Officers to maintain high standards of investigation, strengthen beat policing, enhance public outreach, and ensure effective coordination among all police units. Emphasizing accountability and result-oriented policing, SSP Reasi directed all officers to work with dedication and professionalism in addressing crime, ensuring timely investigations, and delivering efficient public service. He reiterated the commitment of District Police Reasi towards maintaining law and order, providing prompt justice, and leveraging technology-driven initiatives to make policing more effective, transparent, and citizen-centric.

Today, a police party of Police Post Banganga, while on routine patrolling and naka checking duty, noticed two persons coming from Banganga towards Charan Paduka carrying bags. The individuals were identified as Bhushan Singh S/o Chain Singh R/o Purana Daroor, Katra, District Reasi and Abdul Rashid S/o Ali Mohammad R/o Daggal Halal, Tehsil Kalakote, District Rajouri.

During checking, the police recovered a large quantity of to***co products, ci******es, bidis, pan masala and other related items meant for sale from their possession. Upon questioning, both individuals failed to provide any satisfactory explanation regarding the possession and sale of the recovered products.

Taking cognizance of the matter, Police Station Katra registered FIR No. 167/2026 under Section 223 BNS, and further investigation has been initiated.

Reasi Police remains committed to curbing the illegal trade and distribution of to***co and other harmful substances and urges the public to cooperate in the fight against addiction and substance abuse. Citizens are encouraged to share information regarding any such illegal activities with the nearest police establishment so that timely legal action can be taken.

On the late night of 02 June 2026, a police party of Police Station Katra was conducting naka checking at Nomain Naka. During checking, a motorcycle (Pulsar N160) bearing Registration No. JK02DK-8749, coming from Katra towards Nomain, was intercepted for inspection.The motorcycle was being driven by Shugal Singh S/O Shamsher Singh R/O Maira Mandrian, Tehsil Akhnoor, District Jammu. During the search, 7.5 grams of he**in (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.

Acting promptly, the police party seized the recovered contraband and took the accused into custody. In this regard, FIR No. 167/2026 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered narcotics.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟬𝟮: In a major breakthrough against property crimes, Reasi Police has successfully cracked two theft cases, arrested two accused persons and recovered stolen gold, silver ornaments and cash worth approximately ₹4.50 lakh.

The case pertains to FIR No. 156/2026 under Sections 332(c), 305(a) BNS registered at Police Station Katra on the complaint of Vijay Kumar R/O Serwad, regarding the theft of gold and silver ornaments, including one gold necklace, two gold rings, three pairs of gold earrings, multiple silver ornaments including anklets, rings and bangles, along with cash amounting to ₹30,000.

The second case pertains to FIR No. 163/2026 under Sections 331(3), 305 BNS registered on the complaint of Kikar Singh of Buttan (Kund), reporting the theft of a gold Mangalsutra weighing approximately 20 grams and cash amounting to around ₹13,000.

Acting swiftly on the reported incidents, Reasi Police launched an intensive investigation utilizing advanced technical support, human intelligence and sustained field efforts.

During the course of investigation, police teams conducted raids at various locations and zeroed in on a prime suspect identified as Jagdish Chander alias Gosha, son of Ishar Das, resident of Aghar Jittoo, Katra.

Upon sustained interrogation , the accused confessed to his involvement in both theft cases. During further questioning, he disclosed that a portion of the stolen property had been sold to Puran, son of Gagu, resident of Sherpur, Katra. Acting on this disclosure, police teams conducted prompt follow-up raids and successfully recovered the stolen gold and silver ornaments as well as cash linked to both cases.

The recovered property includes gold and silver jewellery and cash worth approximately ₹4.50 lakh. The receiver of the stolen property was also arrested in connection with the case.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟬𝟮: Continuing its sustained efforts against drug trafficking under the ongoing 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗺𝘂 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗵𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻, Reasi Police achieved another success by apprehending a woman and recovering a significant quantity of an o***m from her possession.

Today, a police party of Police Post Dera Baba, while performing naka checking and patrolling duty near Bhabbar Brahmana, intercepted and apprehended a woman identified as Jatinder Kour W/O Gurbachan Singh R/O Kherwad, Bhabbar, Reasi.

During the checking, the police recovered 102.370 grams of an o***m from her possession. The recovered contraband was seized on the spot following all legal formalities.

In this connection, FIR No. 99/2026 under Section 8/18 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation into the matter has been taken up.

Reasi Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the public to extend their cooperation by sharing information regarding drug peddling and narcotics-related activities in their areas.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟬𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗺𝘂 & 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗵𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻, Reasi Police achieved another success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering contraband substance from his possession.

During naka checking at Balni Naka on 31.05.2026, a police party of Police Station Katra intercepted an electric auto bearing registration No. JK20C-8618, which was coming from Katra and heading towards Reasi. The vehicle was being driven by Anil Sharma, S/o Shubash Chander, R/o Saroon Aghar Jitto, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi.

During the checking, the police party recovered approximately 6.3 grams of he**in (Chitta) from the possession of the accused. Acting promptly, the accused was taken into custody and the contraband was seized as per legal procedures.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 166/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered contraband.

Reasi Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟭: District Police Reasi has successfully solved a theft case registered at Police Station Bhawan vide FIR No. 23/2026 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

During the course of investigation, police apprehended the accused, Rajnish Kumar S/O Prem Chand R/O Jalandhar, Punjab. Acting on his disclosure the police team recovered stolen property worth approximately ₹2.40 lakh, including mobile phones and other valuable items.

The accused is presently under police remand and further investigation is underway to ascertain his involvement in other similar theft cases
