According to Narendra Modi’s own political narrative…

When the Indian economy was called “bad” and “Fragile Five”:

💵 $1 = ₹60
⛽ Petrol = ₹70/litre
🔥 LPG cylinder = ₹400
📈 Nifty 50 returns (2004–2014) = 19%

But when the economy is described as “strong” today:

💵 $1 = ₹96
⛽ Petrol = ₹120/litre
🔥 LPG cylinder = ₹950
📉 Nifty 50 returns (2014–2026) = 8%

So the question is simple:

If ₹60 per dollar, ₹70 petrol and ₹400 LPG meant a “fragile” economy…

What should we call an economy with ₹96 per dollar, ₹120 petrol and ₹950 LPG?

🤔 Strong economy—or just a different definition of “good”?

ELECTION COMMISSION INDEPENDENCE IS NOT A PARTY ISSUE — IT IS A DEMOCRACY ISSUE

One institutional change deserves serious public discussion.

In 2023, the Supreme Court prescribed an interim mechanism for appointing the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners involving:

Prime Minister + Leader of Opposition + Chief Justice of India.

Later that year, Parliament enacted a new law under which the selection committee consists of:

Prime Minister + Leader of Opposition + a Union Cabinet Minister nominated by the Prime Minister.

In other words, the Chief Justice of India was replaced by a Cabinet Minister in the statutory selection process.

Whatever party one supports, citizens are entitled to ask:

Does this structure provide sufficient institutional independence to the Election Commission?

The Election Commission conducts elections in which the government itself is a contestant. Therefore, public confidence in the Commission's neutrality is absolutely essential.

Questions about electoral rolls, voter deletions, election procedures or appointments should be answered with data, transparency and verifiable records—not simply dismissed because they are politically uncomfortable.

The same principle must apply whether BJP, Congress or any other party forms the Union Government.

India does not merely need elections.

India needs elections in which every citizen can have confidence that the referee is independent of every player.

Protecting the independence of the Election Commission means protecting the credibility of Indian democracy itself.

WHEN EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT EVERYTHING — WHO IS ANSWERING FOR THEIR OWN DEPARTMENT?

In government, ministers and senior officials will naturally speak on issues beyond their immediate portfolios. But citizens are entitled to expect something more important: clear responsibility and accountability for the departments actually entrusted to them.

The Finance Minister should be questioned about the economy, taxation, inflation and public finances.

The Education Ministry should answer questions about schools, universities, examinations, skills and the future of students.

The Railways Ministry should answer for railway safety, passenger facilities and infrastructure.

The Road Transport Ministry should answer for highways, road safety and transportation.

And our national-security establishment must remain sharply focused on protecting India's security interests.

There is nothing wrong with leaders discussing broader national issues. The problem begins when public discussion becomes a substitute for accountability within one's own area of responsibility.

India does not need confusion over responsibility.

One government. Defined responsibilities. Clear answers. Real accountability.

When something goes wrong, citizens should never have to wonder:

“Who exactly is responsible for this?”

📺 **WHEN NEWS BECOMES ENTERTAINMENT, WHO WILL ASK THE REAL QUESTIONS?**

People standing for hours to buy the latest iPhone may make an interesting story. But should such stories dominate our attention while issues affecting crores of Indians demand serious scrutiny?

India needs sustained journalism on **inflation, petrol and diesel prices, unemployment, corruption, crime, farmers’ concerns, household expenses and major policy changes such as charges affecting digital payments.**

The media has every right to cover technology launches, celebrities and consumer trends. But journalism has a much greater responsibility: **to question those in power and keep citizens informed about decisions that affect their daily lives.**

Instead of repeatedly asking,

**“How long did you wait to buy the new iPhone?”**

our newsrooms should also be asking:

**Why are household expenses rising?
Where are the quality jobs?
How are major economic policies affecting ordinary people?
Are governments delivering what they promised?
Who is being held accountable when public systems fail?**

This standard should apply irrespective of whether **BJP, Congress or any other party** is in power.

**Technology launches are news. But people's livelihoods, public money and government accountability deserve sustained attention too.**

A strong democracy needs a media that does more than follow trends — **it must follow the issues that matter to citizens.**

🚨 **30+ TRIBAL CHILDREN DEAD — THIS DEMANDS ANSWERS, NOT CELEBRATIONS**

More than 30 tribal children have reportedly lost their lives in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district. Behind these numbers are children, grieving parents and families who deserve answers.

Reports have raised serious concerns about **disease, malnutrition, safe drinking water, timely medical treatment and access to basic healthcare** in the affected tribal areas.

Leader of Opposition **Rahul Gandhi** has questioned the Madhya Pradesh government over the deaths and demanded urgent attention to the situation.

Whatever the political party in power, protecting children's lives must come before publicity, celebrations and political events.

The questions are simple:

**Why did so many children die?
Were these deaths preventable?
Did affected villages receive adequate healthcare in time?
What action is being taken to ensure another child does not die because basic facilities were unavailable?**

Tribal families deserve the same healthcare, dignity and protection as every other citizen of this country.

**30+ young lives cannot become just another statistic. There must be transparency, accountability and urgent action.**
