Because AIPWA is a women’s organization which

* fights against all kinds of oppression, for equality of women,

* is part of the struggle of left and democratic forces for social change,

* does not run on government funds; depends on the might of common women. AIPWA believes that women in India suffer dual oppression — as women and as common citizens. Therefore, there is need for an autonomous w

omen’s movement on the specific issues affecting women. AIPWA is the name of such a movement. This struggle will not target men, rather it will fight feudalism in all spheres. Progressive men will be friends in the movement.

2. We aim at building a society, which will provide a conducive atmosphere for carrying forward the struggle for women’s liberation — a society in which women will be assessed on the basis of their contribution to the society. This is possible in a socialist society.

3. Women have been under the political influence of parties like Congress and BJP and other bourgeois parties (JD, SP, BSP etc.) which have stood for maintaining the existing patriarchal society. CPI and CPI(M) have been trailing behind these. Non-party women’s organisations have depoliticised women. AIPWA is a left women’s organization which finds the CPI(ML)’s theory on women’s emancipation the most scientific
Membership of AIPWA

Any woman who has completed 16 years of age and agrees to AIPWA’s constitution and programme can be a member. A membership fee is Re.1 only. Other contributions may be given according to capacity. AIPWA does not accept government funds or funds from any foreign agencies. It is totally dependent on contributions from members and sympathisers. AIPWA Publications

AIPWA strongly condemns the deliberate misinformation and defamatory campaign by certain newspapers and media portals who have falsely used the photograph of CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya while reporting on a TMC leader from West Bengal with the same name, from whose house allegedly unaccounted cash has been recovered.
We demand that all such newspapers, television channels and media portals immediately remove the misleading photographs, issue corrections, and publish an unconditional apology and clarification to their readers and viewers.

URGENT | It has come to our notice that some newspapers and media portals are misusing the photo of CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya presenting him as a TMC leader with the same name in West Bengal from whose house allegedly unaccounted cash has been recovered.

We strongly condemn this mischievous campaign of misinformation and deliberate defamation. We are asking all such newspapers and media portals to correct this mistake and issue an apology and clarification to their readers.

Srishti Gupta is a Delhi-based artist and cultural worker, educated at Delhi College of Art and Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. Her practice spans visual art, poetry, theatre, research, and community-based initiatives. Over the years, she has worked closely with workers, grassroots organizations, and marginalized communities, using art as a tool for dialogue, collective learning, and social change.

On 11 April, Srishti Gupta was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police in connection with the Noida workers' protest case and has since been held in Luksar Jail, Greater Noida. More than 40 days later, she remains incarcerated. Her continued detention has raised serious concerns among artists, writers, academics, and democratic rights advocates across the country.

The demand for Srishti's release is not only a demand for justice for an individual artist; it is also a defense of the fundamental rights to create, to dissent, and to stand in solidarity with working people and marginalized communities.

On 25 May 1967 in Naxalbari village of Darjeeling district, 8 women were killed in a militant struggle against a repressive landlord. Their martyrdom marked the beginning of the militant peasant uprising called the Naxalbari movement, which led to the birth of the CPI(ML), the revolutionary current in India’s communist movement. The uprising spread like a prairie fire to Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, where women like Panchadri Nirmala were martyred in courageous struggles alongside other male comrades.
From the struggles of Naxalbari and Srikakulam to the resistance in Bhojpur, women have given their lives to keep the revolutionary flame alive - for the social transformation and liberation of all.

दिल्ली में जंतर मंतर पर महिला संगठनों द्वारा संयुक्त विरोध प्रदर्शन हुआ। बेहद शर्मनाक है कि पिछले दिनों दिल्ली में यौन उत्पीड़न की तीन घटनाएं हुई। लेकिन, दिल्ली में बैठी भाजपा की केंद्र और दिल्ली सरकार रेखा इस पूरे मामले पर चुप्पी साधे हुए है।

पिछले दिनों देश की राजधानी दिल्ली में जिस तरह से बलात्कार की घटनाएं सामने आई हैं, ये गंभीर चिंता का विषय है। दिल्ली एक रेप कैपिटल बन चुकी है। जहां महिलाओं और बच्चियों की सुरक्षा में सरकार लगातार नाकाम हुई है।

दक्षिणी दिल्ली के जनकपुरी वेस्ट में विद्यालय के केयरटेकर द्वारा 3 साल की छोटी सी बच्ची का बलात्कार किया गया। वहीं, दूसरी तरफ दिल्ली की एक गरीब सेक्स वर्कर महिला को जबरदस्ती बस में खींचकर उसके साथ सामूहिक बलात्कार किया गया। ये घटनाएं सरकार, प्रशासन, न्याय व्यवस्था और पुलिस की नाकामी की कहानी बयान करता है।

बेहद शर्मनाक है कि 3 साल की बच्ची के बलात्कार के मामले में अभियुक्त को द्वारका कोर्ट द्वारा बेल दे दिया गया। ऐपवा उसकी कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करती है।

*ऐपवा द्वारा हमने दिल्ली में पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट को बेहतर बनाने और महिलाओं के लिए फ्री बस सेवा जारी रखने एवं बसों की संख्या बढ़ाने की मांग के साथ लगातार आंदोलन चलाया है। दिल्ली में बसों की संख्या की कमी और महिलाओं के लिए फ्री ट्रांसपोर्ट खत्म करके दिल्ली की रेखा गुप्ता सरकार ने महिलाओं की सुरक्षा को एक बड़े खतरे में डाल दिया है। हमें यह नहीं भूलना चाहिए कि निर्भया बलात्कार केस भी दिल्ली में एक निजी बस में हुआ था। आज दस साल बाद फिर से वही घटना दोहराई गई है। जिसपर भाजपा सरकार चुप है।*

ऐपवा भाजपा सरकार के महिला विरोधी फैसलों की कड़ी निंदा करती है। दिल्ली में महिला सुरक्षा और महिलाओं की आजादी की मांग के साथ दिल्ली में सरकारी बसों की संख्या बढ़ाने, फ्री बस सेवा जारी रखने और सभी सरकारी तंत्रों को महिला एवं बाल सुरक्षा के प्रति जवाबदेही की मांग करती है।
