ICAR ATARI Zone VII, Umiam Celebrated The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India. Shri Narendra Modi led a cleanliness pledge at India Gate, which about thirty lakh government employees across the country joined. He also flagged off a walkathon at Rajpath and surprised people by joining in not just for a token few steps, but marching with the participants for a long way. While leading the mass movement for cleanliness, the Prime Minister exhorted people to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a clean and hygienic India. People from different sections of the society have come forward and joined this mass movement of cleanliness. From government officials to jawans, bollywood actors to the sportspersons, industrialists to spiritual leaders, all have lined up for the noble work. Millions of people across the country have been day after day joining the cleanliness initiatives of the government departments, NGOs and local community centres to make India clean. Organising frequent cleanliness campaigns to spreading awareness about hygiene through plays and music is also being widely carried out across the nation.

ICAR ATARI Zone VII, Umiam Celebrated 75th Independence day, One of the largest democracies in the world, India is celebrating its 75th Independence Day today on Monday, August 15. This day marks the historic occasion as India secured independence from colonial rule after two hundred years of oppression and suppression under the Britishers.On This year, the government of India has organised several events under ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav’, with the theme ‘Nation First, Always First’. To mark the day, the government has also aimed to hoist 200 million tricolours.

ICAR ATARI Zone VII ,umiam celebrated ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.

National Girl Child Day Celebrated by ICAR-ATARI Zone-VII. Children perticipate in Many programmes which was conducted by ICAR-ATARI Zone VII Umiam

India is celebrating National Girl Child Day on Monday (January 24). It is an initiative undertaken by the ministry of women and child development with an objective to provide support and opportunities to the girls of India.According to women and child development ministry, National Girl Child Day is meant to create awareness about the rights a girl owns and to give them opportunities like everyone else, and to support the girl child of the nation and remove gender-based biases.

It also calls for promoting awareness about the inequalities that a girl child faces and educate people about girl’s education.

The main focus is on changing society’s attitude towards girls, decrease female feticide and create awareness about the decreasing s*x ratio, the ministry further said.
The government of India, in 2008, declared January 24 to be celebrated as the National Girl Child Day every year with the objective of raising the consciousness of the society towards the girl child so that she can be valued and respected.
Steps taken by the government to fulfill the objectives of National Girl Child Day

The women and child development ministry listed a number of steps taken by the government in this regard, like:

• Save the Girl Child,

• Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,

• Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana

• CBSE Udaan Scheme

• Free or subsidized education for girl child,

• Reservation for women in colleges and universities

The day is marked by various events all across the country, though the ministry has decided to organise all the programmes in virtual mode this year in view of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated by ICAR-ATARI Zone VII Umiam,every year in the birthday week of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel's, often referred to as the 'Bismark of India'. Patel was born on October 31st and is hailed as a man of high integrity and honesty. This year, Vigilance Week is being observed from October 26 to November 1.
