दिनांक 23/08/2026 को विद्यालय में School Management Committee (SMC) का Capacity Building Programme आयोजित किया गया। कार्यक्रम का आयोजन प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती विद्या जी की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति में किया गया।

कार्यक्रम में RP (Resource Persons) के रूप में श्रीमती सीमा भूरिया, प्रवक्ता (गणित), श्री लेखराज, प्रवक्ता (अंग्रेज़ी) तथा मिस पूजा, TGT (Arts) एवं SMC प्रभारी ने सक्रिय रूप से भाग लिया।

प्रशिक्षण के दौरान SMC के सदस्यों को उनके दायित्वों, अधिकारों, विद्यालय के विकास में उनकी भूमिका, विद्यार्थियों के हित में सहभागिता तथा विद्यालय एवं समुदाय के बीच समन्वय के संबंध में जानकारी प्रदान की गई। सदस्यों को विद्यालय की शैक्षणिक एवं समग्र प्रगति में सक्रिय सहयोग देने के लिए प्रेरित किया गया।

कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य SMC सदस्यों की क्षमता का विकास करना तथा उन्हें विद्यालय के विकास एवं विद्यार्थियों के हित में अधिक प्रभावी एवं सक्रिय भूमिका निभाने हेतु सशक्त बनाना रहा। कार्यक्रम सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न हुआ।

🇮🇳Happy 80th Independence Day!

The Independence Day celebrations commenced with a march past, followed by the flag-hoisting ceremony by the Principal, Mrs. Vidya Banshtu. The complex schools also participated enthusiastically in the celebration. Mrs. Renu Rattan, Headmistress, GHS Vikasnagar, along with staff and students were also present on the occasion.

The celebrations then moved to the auditorium, where a vibrant cultural programme was presented by the students of the complex schools, the Primary Wing, and the higher classes. The teachers and students actively participated and added enthusiasm to the celebrations.

A prize distribution ceremony was also held for the quiz conducted by Census Operations. The prizes were presented to the winning students by Director, Census Operations, Mrs. Deep Shikha Sharma. The event concluded on a cheerful and patriotic note, celebrating the spirit of Independence Day.

Students of the school also participated in the Independence Day celebrations held at the historic Ridge, Shimla, with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.🇮🇳

SP Shimla Shri Gaurav Singh visited GUSSS Chhota Shimla and interacted with the students on the issue of drug abuse. He sensitised the students about the harmful effects of drugs and encouraged them to adopt a healthy, responsible and drug-free lifestyle.

Additional Director Sh. Jeevan Negi visited the school today and shared important guidelines regarding CBSE. During his visit, he interacted with the students, encouraged them to remain focused on their studies, and motivated them to work hard to achieve academic excellence. His inspiring interaction was appreciated by both the students and the staff.

"Police Ki Paathshala" an awareness programme organized by Amar Ujala, was held at GUSSS Chhota Shimla. The programme was attended by students and staff with great enthusiasm.
The Chief Guest, Sh. Bhupender Negi, SP CID, addressed the gathering and delivered an informative talk on cyber crime, road safety, and drug abuse. He highlighted the importance of staying alert against online fraud, following traffic rules, and avoiding substance abuse. He also encouraged students to become responsible citizens and spread awareness among their families and friends.
The event was graced by the presence of Principal Mrs. Vidya Banshtu, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the need for such awareness programmes to educate and empower young minds. The interactive session concluded with students actively participating and resolving to adopt safe and responsible practices in their daily lives.

Bag-Free Day Celebrated on 25th July.
The school celebrated Bag-Free Day on 25th July with a series of engaging and meaningful activities for students of Classes VI to X and XI–XII.

For the senior secondary students (Classes XI and XII), a Seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) was organised, followed by a certificate distribution ceremony. They also attended an informative Career Guidance and Counselling Session, where students received valuable guidance regarding higher education and future career opportunities.

Students of Classes VI to XII participated in a Mock Drill on Disaster Management conducted by the Department of Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority. The drill helped them understand the importance of disaster preparedness and emergency response. The programme included interactive sessions on:
1. Drop, cover and hold Earthquake safety drill.
2. Preparation of a family Disaster Management Plan
3. Demonstration of emergency response tools and equipment.
4. Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.(CPR)
5. First Aid Technique.
6. Fire Safety Awareness and practical use of fire extinguishers.
7. Safe evacuation Procedures.

The students also enthusiastically took part in a variety of fun-filled sports and recreational activities.
The day concluded with a cleanliness drive across the school campus, in which students, NSS volunteers, and teachers actively participated, promoting the values of cleanliness, responsibility, and teamwork.

Principal Mrs. Vidya Banshtu made every effort to ensure that the Bag-Free Day was both enjoyable and enriching for the students by thoughtfully planning a variety of educational, awareness, and recreational activities. The initiative successfully combined learning with fun, making the day a memorable experience for everyone.

The active participation and enthusiastic involvement of all the teachers and students made the celebration a memorable and grand success.
