🏛️ DC Srinagar conducts on-site inspection of development works at Anchaar Soura

Reviews progress in restoration and preservation of Jenab Sahib Soura shrine & its historic spring; establishment of an ATM, road & water improvement projects

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo conducted an on-site inspection at Anchaar Jenab Sahib Soura, reviewing the progress of ongoing works for the restoration and preservation of the historic spring and Shrine. 🌿✨

🔹 ₹1.20 crore restoration project includes:
• Desilting and improvement of the pool area
• Devri stone flooring, deck and steps
• Heritage-style peripheral works and ornamental grills
• Ornamental gates and lamp posts 💡
• Preservation of the site’s historic character and aesthetic value 🕌

The DC directed concerned agencies to ensure timely completion, quality ex*****on and coordinated implementation of all works while preserving the heritage character of the site. 👷‍♂️✅

🏧 Responding to local demands, he also directed authorities to facilitate the installation of an ATM at Anchaar Jenab Sahib Soura for the convenience of residents, devotees and traders.

🚧 He further reviewed ongoing road and water improvement works and directed the executing agencies to complete the remaining works at the earliest.

🤝 The DC also interacted with local residents and members of the Management Committee, taking note of their developmental concerns and demands.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo chaired the District NCORD Committee meeting in the presence of SSP Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, reviewing the ongoing anti-narcotics strategy, enforcement measures and prevention & rehabilitation measures.

🤝 Focus: coordinated action to curb drug supply, disrupt narcotics networks and strengthen treatment & rehabilitation mechanisms.

📊 Key action reported:
🔹 209 FIRs registered
🔹 305 alleged drug peddlers arrested
🔹 121 properties worth Rs 132 crore attached/dismantled
🔹 163 bank accounts frozen
🔹 103 driving licences & 59 vehicle RCs suspended
🔹 418.15 kanals of illegal opium/poppy cultivation destroyed 🌱

DC Srinagar Reviews Arrangements for Urs at Ziyarat Dastgeer Sahib, Sarai Bala

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo visited Ziyarat Dastgeer Sahib, Sarai Bala, Amirakadal, to review arrangements for the smooth and peaceful observance of the annual Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA).

The DC took an on-site review of key facilities, including:

Drinking water supply
Uninterrupted power supply
Sanitation & cleanliness
Traffic & parking management
Street lighting
Medical & first-aid facilities
Fire safety arrangements

He directed all concerned departments to ensure seamless coordination and timely completion of arrangements so that devotees can observe the Urs safely, peacefully and conveniently.

A First Aid-cum-Medical Camp will also be established at the Shrine to provide immediate medical assistance to devotees.
