Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony was organised at GGHSS NOWHATTA SRINAGAR under the dynamic leadership of Principal Ms Naseema Shah. The voting process was organised by Mr. Tariq Rasool, Sr. Lecturer in Political Science, in the school auditorium in a peaceful and enthusiastic atmosphere, with active participation from the students.

Irtiqa Shabir of Class 12th was elected as the President, while Arsha Ashraf Bhat won the post of Vice President. Along with them, House Captains and the head of the Eco Club were also honoured with badges, symbolising their duties and responsibilities towards the school.

On the occasion, Principal Ms Naseema Shah congratulated all the elected students and encouraged them to work with sincerity, discipline, and dedication. She highlighted the importance of leadership qualities, teamwork, and responsibility, and motivated the students to become role models for others.

The ceremony concluded successfully with great excitement and a spirit of unity, democracy, and leadership among the students.

The week-long Anemia Testing Program organized by Zone Rainawari began on 2nd May at Cluster GGHSS Nowhatta and concluded successfully on Saturday, 9th May. The programme was conducted to create awareness about anemia and to ensure the health and well-being of students. Throughout the week, all schools under the GGHSS Nowhatta Cluster were actively monitored and covered during the testing process.

Medical teams and health workers visited the schools, conducted hemoglobin tests, and guided students about the importance of proper nutrition and healthy eating habits. Teachers and students participated wholeheartedly, making the programme both meaningful and successful. The initiative proved to be an important step towards promoting better health awareness among students and encouraging preventive healthcare practices in schools.

Today, on 8th May 2026, GGHSS Nowhatta Srinagar organised a Naat Competition in the school premises. Students participated with great enthusiasm and presented beautiful naats in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The programme was conducted under the guidance of the worthy Principal, Ms Naseema Shah, along with the teaching staff. The event aimed to promote love, respect, and moral values among students. A powerful skit titled "خاموش زوال" (Silent Decline) was performed by students of GGHSS Nowhatta to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction. The play depicted the story of Aisha, a young student who falls into drug abuse due to neglect at home and peer pressure, and her journey towards recovery with the help of a supportive counsellor.

- The skit showcased the role of family, school, and friends in preventing drug addiction.
- It highlighted how lack of attention and wrong company can lead youth towards substance abuse.

GGHSS NOWHATTA SRINAGAR

The rainwater harvesting system was installed successfully at Government Girls Higher Secondary Nowhatta to support the maintenance and irrigation of the herbal garden.The system collects rainwater from the rooftops of the school building through a network of pipes and channels , storimg water in the tank. The core objective of harvesting rainwater is to promote water conservation and ensure sustainable use of natural resources(to irrigate the plants in herbal garden especially during dry periods)within the scool premises..This installation will significantly reduce dependence on regular water supply and help in maintaining the health and growth of medicinal plants in the garden. Moreover it serves as a practical educational model for students, creating awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
