We strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack in that claimed the life of Head Constable Ashiq Hussain, who laid down his life while performing his duty to safeguard the people and ensure the security of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. His supreme sacrifice will forever be remembered with honour and gratitude.

Terrorism is an enemy of humanity. It has no religion, no morality, and no justification. Such barbaric acts are a desperate attempt to spread fear and disrupt the peace.

We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and stand in solidarity with the Jammu & Kashmir Police and all security personnel who continue to protect our nation with unmatched courage and selfless dedication.

May the brave soul attain eternal peace. Let us remain united against terrorism and steadfast in our commitment to peace, unity, and a stronger India.

Kashmir’s Legal Fraternity Reaches New Delhi, KJBA Raises Key Issues Before Union Law Minister

Srinagar, July 3: In a significant step for the legal community, the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association (KJBA), led by President Adv. Altaf Ganderbali, met the Union Law Minister in New Delhi to highlight key issues concerning advocates, judicial reforms, and access to justice in Jammu & Kashmir.

The delegation also discussed measures to strengthen legal institutions and improve the justice delivery system.
The Union Law Minister appreciated KJBA’s efforts in promoting legal awareness and assured the delegation that their concerns and suggestions would receive due consideration.

President of Kashmir Jurists Bar Association Calls on Union Law Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal in New Delhi

New Delhi, July 3, 2026:

The President of the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association (KJBA), Adv. Altaf Ganderbali, along with the Association’s Chief Coordinator, Adv. Tajamul Choudhary, today paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Union Minister for Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, at his official residence, 5, Kalyan Marg, New Delhi.

During the meeting, the delegation held a cordial and meaningful interaction with the Hon’ble Minister on various issues concerning the legal fraternity, judicial reforms, access to justice, and matters relating to the welfare of advocates and the justice delivery system.

Adv. Altaf Ganderbali and Adv. Tajamul Choudhary apprised the Hon’ble Minister of several issues affecting the legal community in Jammu & Kashmir and emphasised the need for continued support towards strengthening legal institutions and ensuring greater access to justice for the people.

Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal appreciated the constructive role being played by the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association in promoting legal awareness, providing legal aid, and contributing to the administration of justice. He assured the delegation that the concerns and suggestions placed before him would receive due consideration.

The Kashmir Jurists Bar Association reaffirmed its commitment to working in close coordination with all stakeholders for the advancement of the legal profession and the promotion of justice and the rule of law.
