The House should take a clear and categorical resolution urging the Central Government to update the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur, with 1951 as the base year.

The resolution should not be passed without specifying the base year of 1951. A resolution without a clearly defined base year would leave the issue open to ambiguity and could weaken the purpose of updating the NRC.

We were pleased to participate in the Teachers’ Day cm Annual Literary & Cultural Meet 2026 at A.G. Memorial Academy, Charangpat, where the Hon’ble CLP Leader, Manipur & MLA, 32-Wangkhem Assembly Constituency, Shri K. Press Conference by Wangkhem Block Congress Committee

The Wangkhem Block Congress Committee held a press conference at Yairipok Bishnunaha to strongly condemn the bomb blast that occurred yesterday at the residence of Shri Keisham Meghachandra Singh, Hon’ble MLA of Wangkhem Assembly Constituency and Leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), Manipur.

The Committee expressed deep concern over the growing threat to the safety and security of public representatives and ordinary citizens. Such acts of violence are a serious threat to peace, democracy, and the rule of law.

The Committee demanded a fair, impartial, and time-bound investigation into the incident and urged the authorities to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Violence has no place in a democratic society. We stand united in condemning this cowardly act and demanding peace, justice, and accountability for the people of Manipur.

“We Do Not Want Bomb Blasts in Residential Areas”

A protest meeting was organised by All Yairipok Apunba Ema Lup at Yairipok Bishnunaha, expressing strong opposition to the bomb blast that took place yesterday at the residence of Shri Keisham Meghachandra Singh, Hon’ble MLA of Wangkhem A/C and CLP Leader, Manipur.

During the meeting, the participants strongly condemned the incident and expressed their concern over bomb attacks in residential areas and acts of violence that threaten the safety and security of the people.

The gathering also appealed for peace, harmony, and the safety of all citizens, and urged that such incidents should not be repeated in the future.

Through this protest meeting, the people expressed their strong voice against violence and their desire for a peaceful and secure society.
