With a heart filled with unbearable sorrow and profound grief, I mourn the untimely passing of Sjt. Bijit Gwra Narzary, elected representative of 26 No. Darrangajuli and Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Bodoland Territorial Council.

His sudden departure has left behind a silence that words can never truly express. Today, a family has lost a beloved member, friends have lost a dear companion, colleagues have lost a respected leader, and the people have lost a dedicated public servant.

His journey in public life was marked by service, responsibility, and a commitment to the people. His absence will be deeply felt—not only in the halls of public service, but in the hearts of everyone who knew him and valued his contribution.

In this moment of unimaginable grief, my deepest condolences go to his bereaved family, relatives, friends, colleagues, supporters, and countless well-wishers. May they find the strength to face this heartbreaking loss.

Some departures leave behind an emptiness that can never be filled. Some lives end, but their memories never fade. A true leader may leave this world, but the footprints of his service remain forever in the hearts of the people.

May the Almighty grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give his family the strength, courage, and patience to endure this profound and irreparable loss.

It is a great honor for me to attend the 6th Boro Peace Accord. This accord is a political milestone that recognizes the democratic struggle, identity, and rights of the Boro people.

Peace must now translate into political justice, constitutional safeguards, and real development on the ground. Agreements should not remain promises, but must become action.

We stand for unity, dignity, and a future where the voice of the Boro people is respected and protected.

Dr. Anjali Daimari, then President of the Boro Women’s Justice Forum (BWJF invited to speak at the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) — a key UN platform for indigenous peoples held annually at the UN Headquarters in New York City.
Main Themes:Dr. Daimari raised critical issues affecting the Bodo indigenous community — an ethnic group in Assam, Northeast India — including:
1. Threat to Existence, Identity & Cultural Rights.
2. Rights and Implementation of Agreements.
4. Peace Process and Security Policies.
5. Women’s Rights and Violence.
