سفير جمهورية العراق في لندن يلتقي بالباحث العباس فاضل السوداني
التقى سعادة سفير جمهورية العراق لدى المملكة المتحدة الدكتور صالح حسين علي التميمي، بالأستاذ العباس فاضل السوداني، الباحث في جامعة لندن للاقتصاد والسياسة (LSE) والحاصل على منحة تشيفننغ (Chevening Scholarship)، حيث جرى خلال اللقاء بحث عدد من القضايا التي تهم الطلبة المبتعثين والباحثين العراقيين في بريطانيا، ولا سيما فئة الشباب.
وشهد اللقاء مناقشة سبل تعزيز التعاون بين الجامعات ومؤسسات البحث العلمي والسفارة، بما يسهم في دعم الباحثين العراقيين وتطوير بيئة أكاديمية منتجة ترتبط باحتياجات العراق التنموية والعلمية، وتفتح آفاقًا أوسع للتنسيق المشترك وتبادل الخبرات.
وأشار السيد السفير على ضرورة دعم برامج تدريب وتأهيل الشباب لتمكينهم من المشاركة الفاعلة والتأثير الإيجابي في المجتمع، من خلال مبادرات توعوية وورش عمل تسهم في تنمية المهارات القيادية وتعزيز مفاهيم المواطنة والمسؤولية المجتمعية..
وفي ختام اللقاء، أكد السيد السفير على أهمية استمرار التنسيق والتعاون بما يخدم مصلحة المغتربين والكفاءات العراقية، و تمكين الشباب ليكونوا عناصر فاعلة ومؤثرة في المجتمع الذي يعيشون فيه، مع الحفاظ على هويتهم الثقافية والوطنية.
Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Meets Researcher Al-Abbas Fadhil Al-Sudani
His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, met with Mr Al-Abbas Fadhil Al-Sudani, a researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a recipient of the Chevening Scholarship. During the meeting, a number of issues of importance to Iraqi students on scholarships and researchers in the United Kingdom were discussed, particularly those relating to young people.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between universities, research institutions and the Embassy, in a manner that supports Iraqi researchers and contributes to the development of a productive academic environment aligned with Iraq’s developmental and scientific needs. Such cooperation would further open broader prospects for joint coordination and the exchange of expertise.
His Excellency emphasised the importance of supporting youth training and capacity-building programmes to enable young people to participate effectively and exert a positive impact within society. This can be achieved through awareness initiatives and workshops that enhance leadership skills and promote the values of citizenship and social responsibility.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Excellency reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination and cooperation in a way that serves the interests of Iraqi expatriates and skilled professionals, while empowering young people to become active and influential members of the societies in which they reside, without compromising their cultural and national identity.
