As part of the major restoration project of the Renaissance frescoes at the Palais Princier de Monaco, our laser technologies were used for laser cleaning activities, contributing to a decade-long journey of discovery, research, and conservation.
The recently uncovered ceiling frescoes reveal an extraordinary pictorial cycle, forming a vast allegory of the history of the Grimaldi family during the Renaissance. Initiated at the request of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, this project stands as an exemplary model of sustainable heritage conservation, continuing the long tradition of the Grimaldi family as patrons and protectors of the arts.
This remarkable scientific, historical, and human endeavor was the focus of the international multidisciplinary conference
“Images d’une souveraineté de la Renaissance – Dix ans de découvertes et de restauration des fresques au Palais princier de Monaco”, held from March 19 to 21, 2026, at the Musée Océanographique de Monaco.
The conference brought together experts to study, interpret, and discuss the restoration of the Palace frescoes, highlighting the dialogue between art, science, and advanced conservation technologies.
