Stationed at PWD Naples, BU2 Freeman thrives on teamwork and seeing complex projects through to the end. When asked about his work, he shared:

"I truly value collaborating alongside different trades and disciplines outside of my own rate... Ultimately, there is a profound sense of accomplishment in overseeing a project from its initial planning stages all the way through to final ex*****on. Seeing the tangible results of our hard work from start to finish is incredibly rewarding."

Bravo Zulu to Construction Electrician Constructionman Aidan Monahan, our NAVFAC EURAFCENT Blue Jacket of the Quarter (2nd Quarter, FY26)!

Operating out of Naval Station Rota, Spain, CECN Monahan holds a massive amount of responsibility for an E-3, ensuring the operational readiness of the U.S. 6th Fleet by managing heavy power cables and leading working parties during ship arrivals and departures.

"I am the first person our ships see when they come back from patrol, and the last person they see when they leave," Monahan said. "I feel very proud to be the face of PWD Rota and NAVFAC... This work we do directly affects the operational readiness of 6th fleet, and I enjoy every day I get to do this job."

This Memorial Day, NAVFAC EURAFCENT proudly honors the heroes who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten. Today, we pause to remember the fallen, honor their legacy, and express our deepest gratitude to the families who carry that sacrifice evey day.

Huge congrats to Carlo Ruggiero, our 2026 Q1 Junior Civilian of the Quarter at PWD Naples! 🇮🇹

Carlo has been a logistics powerhouse this quarter:
• Achieved 100% inventory accuracy across 1,017 items.
• Processed 754 material issues valued at over $52,000.
• Pioneered new procurement workflows for the 4PL program.

Carlo says his greatest pride is "solving logistical challenges so our engineers and Seabees aren't left waiting on critical materials to build the infrastructure that projects naval power."

Please join us in congratulating Alex Menez, our 1st Quarter Senior Civilian of the Quarter.

Alex’s work this quarter advanced U.S. strategic objectives across Africa. He completed four major projects, managed 18 initiatives, and delivered infrastructure that increased vessel throughput by 40% and improved counter terrorism training effectiveness by 30%. His achievements strengthened partner nation capabilities and earned him a personal commissioning from the Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa.

Alex shared that what he values most is seeing small but impactful projects come to life — from “cradle to grave” — and knowing they directly support people and mission success overseas.
