A friendly reminder. Parking behind the Parish Hall is limited to 6 hours between 9am and 5pm and that does include Sundays and Bank Holidays too. Please remember to display your parking disc clearly when you park there.

We’ve noticed that some vehicles are being left there for the day while people head into town and others are being used more like resident parking. Unfortunately, this is causing difficulties for people attending activities and events at the Parish Hall, who are sometimes unable to find a space.

The parking area is there to support short-term community use and help people access the hall and nearby facilities fairly.

So please help us keep spaces available for everyone and save yourself an unwelcome souvenir from our officers.

Perks of the job! 🐾

Sometimes our patrols come with cuddles included. Last week, one of our officers enjoyed making a new four-legged friend whilst we were out chatting to owners about keeping our furry passengers safe and secure in the car.

A big thank you to our very beautiful 🐾 model 🐾 for helping us spread the message.

⚠️ FRAUD WARNING ⚠️

We have been made aware of a convincing scam involving fraudsters claiming to be from HSBC.

Please be vigilant. These callers can sound very professional and convincing, and the scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Any of us can be caught out.

Never give out passwords, PIN numbers, one-time codes or banking details over the phone, even if the caller appears genuine. If in doubt, hang up and contact your bank directly using a trusted number.

Please also take a moment to check in with older relatives, neighbours and anyone who may be more vulnerable, and share this warning with them. A quick conversation could prevent someone losing a large amount of money.

Stay safe and let’s look after one another

Fraud warning: impersonation of HSBC via cold calling

Jersey residents are being contacted by fraudsters using the phone number +44 (0)800 028 6889. These callers pretend to be HSBC and try to obtain personal and banking details. The fraudulent phone number is not associated with HSBC.

Be vigilant if you receive calls claiming to be from your bank or any other financial institution.

If you have received a call from this number, contact our enforcement team on +44 (0)1534 822000 or email [email protected].

Our Officers were out and about in the village this morning and, in a very short space of time, stopped an alarming number of motorists exceeding the speed limit.

Please remember to watch your speed. In and around the village, many areas are 20mph for a reason. We are proud of our lovely Parish spirit, with children enjoying the green, elderly residents, dog walkers, cyclists and plenty of wildlife all sharing our roads. We want everyone to stay safe and accident free.

With the good weather arriving, half term underway and the Bank Holidays ahead, the roads are getting busier. A few extra minutes on your journey is far better than an unwanted chat with us at the roadside 😉

We will be out and about over the Bank Holiday period carrying out further speed checks, so please slow down, enjoy the sunshine and help keep our Parish safe for everyone.

Sunshine, blue skies and a Bank Holiday weekend? We’re almost suspicious… let’s hope we haven’t jinxed it now! ☀️🤣

As lots of people head to the bays to enjoy the weather, please remember not to park on the slipways at Greve de Lecq or Slip de L’Ouest - that’s the one nearest to L’Etacq.

Parking on these slipways is illegal and vehicles parked there will risk receiving an unwelcome parking fine. More importantly, the areas must be kept clear at all times for emergency access and launching requirements.

Thank you to everyone who parks considerately and helps keep our beautiful bays safe and accessible for everyone.

Have a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend and enjoy the weather while it lasts! 🌊

Looks like we may actually get a Bank Holiday weekend with sunshine for once… although we probably shouldn’t say that too loudly☀️😄

With the lovely weather expected, the overflow car park at Plemont is open to help everyone enjoy the beach and café.

A little reminder though, please don’t park on the approach road to the café and beach. The yellow lines are there to keep access clear for emergency vehicles and essential access and vehicles parked there may receive a parking ticket.

We’d really appreciate everyone using the designated parking areas so the weekend stays safe and enjoyable for all.

Thank you as always for your support, enjoy the sunshine, and have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend! 🚓🌊
