SCOOP asked all election candidates four questions relating to sustainable food systems, food security and supply chains.

You can read my responses in the link below if you like 🙂

ELECTION SPECIAL - making sure that food is part of the debate

We asked all candidates four questions relating to food systems and supply chains in Jersey.

Their responses can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Dw5D2tfBl5n-Oh3AMb4WTIjw39uGdGAKuML7895i7jk/

Our questions:

1. What does a sustainable food system mean to you and how would this benefit the island of Jersey and its inhabitants? What elements of this are you most passionate about?

2. How can your definition of a sustainable food system be supported in Jersey by the Government? If you had to choose something that would have the biggest positive impact in creating a resilient healthy food system that serves our community, what would that be?

3. Much has been done to increase support for the rural economy over the last six years. Where do you see that more work needs to be done and what do you propose to address these issues?

4. What examples of policy or practice from other jurisdictions do you view as inspirational and aspirational for Jersey?

The way we shape our food system and the Government's role in this has long term implications on the future health of our island and those that live here. We hope that we have helped set an Agenda for the coming term.

Our election manifesto is now live!

It’s time to build a fairer society. A community that doesn’t leave people behind. An island where young people can build secure futures, families can thrive, and pensioners can retire in dignity and comfort.

Reform Jersey is committed to doing just that.

🌊 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗲.

Reform Jersey has officially unveiled our 2026 election manifesto: 𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘥𝘦.

Jersey should be a place where people can afford to live well, raise a family, build a future, and feel optimistic about what comes next. But for too long, governments have managed decline instead of building renewal.

This manifesto is our plan to change course. To tackle the cost of living crisis, fix the housing system, invest in public services and infrastructure, and build a fairer, more prosperous Island.

A better future for Jersey is possible. But it will not happen by accident.
