The National Drag Racing Circuit (NDRC) is a Limited Liability Company, formed in 2002 to undertake the challenge of growing the sport of Drag Racing in Jamaica. Multiple events have been held annually for five (5) years, spanning from inception to 2007. Over the years, endorsements from The Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC), Government bodies such as the National Road Safety Council, our pa

rtnership with the International organization Racers Against Street Racing and local private sector organizations, has cemented our commitment to the sport. During these years, National Records were established, Event Winners were revered and National Champions were crowned. The team spirit was also encouraged as this saw the co-operation of independent racers forming teams, complete with logos, stickers and websites, competing for an Annual Team Championship. In 2007, continued success was met with the sudden closure of the Vernamfield Airstrip, due to Government restrictions, however, our Annual Championship Series was permitted to be completed. Official racing ceased at Vernamfield, till now...
Through hard work and dedication, our efforts have resulted in the revival of Official racing at the Vernamfield Facility. In a recent Market Research study, the legacy of NDRC is still seen as positive in the staging of events of high quality and entertainment value. Our simple goal is:
To create “A safe and fun filled day where competitors and spectators from all across the entire island of Jamaica, converge on the transformed, Vernamfield Airstrip in Clarendon, to partake in the hefty helpings of adrenaline, competition and friendly rivalry.”
Our strategic partners will be carefully selected to help us in our endeavors, in order to preserve and improve upon the value of NDRC events, providing tangible benefits to all stakeholders, sponsors, racers, and our community development activities. The latter includes the Gimme-Mi-Bit Basic School, Power of Faith Basic School and the Springfield Basic School located in Clarendon.

Chris Elliott appointed to FIA Drag Racing Commission.

Jamaican Chris Elliott has been formally appointed by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) to its Drag Racing Commission. Mr. Elliott is the first Jamaican to perform duties in a motor sport capacity within the FIA and will serve for a period of two years.

In a letter to Mr. Elliott, JMMC Chairman Stephen Gunter wrote, “I am writing to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your recent appointment to the 2024–2025 FIA Drag Racing Commission. This prestigious position is a testament to your unwavering dedication and exceptional contributions to the development of drag racing, particularly in Jamaica, for more than two decades.”

“Your appointment to the FIA Drag Racing Commission is not only a recognition of your achievements but also a testament to the trust and confidence placed in you by your peers and colleagues. I have no doubt that you will continue to bring your passion, expertise, and integrity to this new role, further enhancing the sport of drag racing on a global scale.”

The National Drag Racing Circuit (NDRC) regrets to inform the motor sport fraternity of the untimely passing of our beloved Director, Mr. Junior Buzzar.

A fan of all motor sport genres and well known throughout the community, Junior was the Chief Organizer of every NDRC drag racing event held at Vernamfield, Clarendon from 2003 to 2017. Prior to the NDRC, he served in a similar capacity on the board of the Jamaica Drag Racing Association (JDRA) from 1999 to 2002.

Junior has left an indelible impression on those who were fortunate enough to know him. Whether through his cooking, socializing or just plain generosity, his character will be missed by many, near and far, from all walks of life.

The NDRC thanks everyone for the outpouring of condolences and support for Junior and his family. We mourn the loss of a true friend. Godspeed Junior Buzzar - Feb 14 2021.

* Racers who wish to register early may download entry forms at http://www.ndrc.com.jm/?wpdmdl=342 which can be sent to [email protected] The online entry form is a fill-able .pdf file: download the form, fill it out, save it then send to [email protected]

* Racer entry fee is $5,000. Additional armbands are $1,500. Racers with payouts due may utilize payout for Entry fee and/or armbands. A full listing of Racer Payouts will be at the Registration tent.

* Trophies will be awarded for 1st & 2nd place in each class. There will be additional sponsor prizes for class winners.
