The court told its own story today.

The Support Brigade’s Inter-Unit Netball Championship delivered more than a contest of goals and possession. Each team brought its own character to the court, turning every interception, pass and shot into a statement of Unit pride and collective resolve.

The Support and Services Battalion rose to the occasion, securing championship honours after a spirited and well-contested clash against the Health Services Corps.

The Support Brigade extends hearty congratulations to the champions and commends all participating teams for raising the standard of competition, sportsmanship and Formation pride.

Today, the ball found the net, but the real victory was the spirit of the Brigade on full display.

The Logistics Company Labour Day team brought energy, pride, and good spirit to Bellevue Hospital, where they carried out grounds maintenance and beautification works aimed at improving the workspace.

The team assisted with the planting of lawn grass and flowers, the dressing of walking areas with gravel and stepping stones as well as general improvements to the surrounding grounds.

Labour Day reminds us that nation-building is not only done in grand gestures, but also in the practical acts that make our communities cleaner, greener, and more dignified.

One People, One Purpose, In All Things Jamaica Wins.

Waste to Worth: Support Brigade Drives a Greener Up Park Camp

The Support Brigade has launched its Plastic Recycling Campaign Competition as part of a deliberate effort to deepen environmental awareness, promote responsible waste management, and encourage a culture of sustainability across the Brigade.

The campaign, which is being led by Captain Nicarr Whyte, seeks to highlight the ecological value of separating plastic from general waste, while demonstrating how small, disciplined habits can contribute to a wider environmental impact.

To date, Units across the Brigade have collected over 4,300 lbs of plastic bottles through the establishment of designated recycling receptacles across Up Park Camp. The recylced bottles are transported to the Recycling Partners of Jamaica (RPJ).

This initiative represents a collective responsibility, practical stewardship, and the Brigade’s commitment to preserving the environment in which we serve, train, and live.

The initiative forms part of a broader vision to position Up Park Camp as a recycling eco-zone, where sustainability is treated as a standing culture embedded in daily military life.

Through this campaign, the Support Brigade continues to show that service extends beyond operations. It includes the responsibility to protect the spaces we occupy and to contribute meaningfully to a cleaner, greener Jamaica.

A DAY WITH FUTURE LEADERS

The Support Brigade was delighted to spend the day with the bright and ambitious students of Eccleston Primary and Infant School in St Catherine for their Career Day Expo.

Dressed proudly in the uniforms and attire of their chosen professions, the students reminded us that every great journey begins with a dream. The Brigade was honoured to share a glimpse of what service in the military offers: discipline, purpose, leadership, teamwork and the opportunity to serve something greater than self.

To the young doctors, soldiers, pilots, teachers, engineers, police officers, nurses and future national leaders, keep dreaming boldly and working diligently. Jamaica’s future is already standing tall.

Do you remember what you wanted to be at their age? Are you in that field today? Let us know in the comments below.

FIRST STOP: TRINITY PREPARATORY SCHOOL

In observance of Labour Day 2026, personnel from the Work and Transport Companies of the Support and Services Battalion, Jamaica Defence Force, joined national efforts in support of external Labour Day projects, with particular focus on environmental preservation and community renewal.

At Trinity Preparatory School in Linstead, St Catherine, our soldiers gave practical expression to service beyond the barracks, contributing their time, discipline and labour to a cause greater than self.

Because when communities are strengthened, Jamaica wins.
