📍 Deir Alla Municipality Participates in SMARTMED Study Visits in Greece
As part of the SMARTMED Annual Project Meeting, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, a delegation from Deir Alla Municipality, led by Dr. Raed Al-Azab, Mayor of Deir Alla Municipality, participated in study visits to the Greek cities of Kozani and Larissa to explore innovative smart city solutions in the fields of smart waste management and digital health.
During the visit to the University of Western Macedonia (UOWM) in Kozani, the delegation experienced a live demonstration of the SMARTMED platform, including smart bin monitoring systems, AI-powered waste collection route planning, and e-Health applications using wearable technologies to monitor the wellbeing of municipal employees.
The delegation also visited the JOIST Innovation Park in Larissa, where they explored the Smart Health Testbed developed by the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED). The visit showcased how digital health technologies can support municipalities in improving public services and enhancing the wellbeing of their workforce through citizen-centred smart solutions.
Dr. Raed Al-Azab emphasized that these visits represent an important opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn from European best practices, and strengthen international cooperation. He expressed Deir Alla Municipality’s commitment to adopting innovative smart solutions that contribute to improving municipal services and promoting sustainable development for the benefit of the local community.

⭐⭐ Co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, SMARTMED is coordinated by the University of Western Macedonia - Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Μακεδονίας (UOWM, Greece) with partners the IED Institute of Entrepreneurship Development(Greece), the بلدية ديرعلا Deir Alla Municipality (Jordan) and BUSINESSMED (Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises) (Tunisia). With a budget of €1.133.180, the project is supported by an EU contribution of €1.008.530,20 (89%) and co-financing of €124.694,80 (11%).

بلدية دير علا تشارك في الزيارات الميدانية لمشروع SMARTMED في اليونان
ضمن فعاليات الاجتماع السنوي لمشروع SMARTMED، والممول من قبل الاتحاد الأوروبي ضمن برنامج Interreg NEXT MED، شارك وفد من بلدية دير علا برئاسة الدكتور رائد العزب، رئيس بلدية دير علا، في زيارات ميدانية إلى مدينتي كوزاني ولاريسا في اليونان، للاطلاع على حلول المدن الذكية المبتكرة في مجالي إدارة النفايات الذكية والصحة الرقمية.
وخلال زيارة جامعة غرب مقدونيا (UOWM) في مدينة كوزاني، اطلع الوفد على عرض حي لمنصة SMARTMED الذكية، والتي تشمل أنظمة مراقبة الحاويات الذكية، وتخطيط مسارات جمع النفايات باستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي، بالإضافة إلى تطبيقات الصحة الإلكترونية باستخدام التقنيات القابلة للارتداء لمتابعة صحة ورفاهية موظفي البلديات.
كما زار الوفد حديقة JOIST للابتكار في مدينة لاريسا، حيث اطلع على الحقل التجريبي للصحة الذكية الذي طوره معهد ريادة الأعمال (IED). وأظهرت الزيارة كيف يمكن لتقنيات الصحة الرقمية أن تدعم البلديات في تحسين الخدمات العامة وتعزيز رفاهية كوادرها من خلال حلول ذكية تتمحور حول احتياجات المواطنين.
وأكد الدكتور رائد العزب أن هذه الزيارات تمثل فرصة مهمة لتبادل المعرفة، والتعرف على أفضل الممارسات الأوروبية، وتعزيز التعاون الدولي. كما أعرب عن التزام بلدية دير علا بتبني الحلول الذكية المبتكرة التي تساهم في تحسين الخدمات البلدية وتعزيز التنمية المستدامة بما يخدم المجتمع المحلي.
وتواصل بلدية دير علا التزامها بدعم التحول الرقمي، وتبادل المعرفة، وتعزيز الشراكات الدولية التي تسهم في بناء مجتمعات أكثر ذكاءً واستدامة وقدرة على مواجهة التحديات.
⭐⭐ يُموَّل مشروع SMARTMED من قبل الاتحاد الأوروبي ضمن برنامج Interreg NEXT MED، ويتم تنسيقه من قبل جامعة غرب مقدونيا - Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Μακεδονίας (UOWM، اليونان)، بالشراكة مع معهد ريادة الأعمال (IED، اليونان)، وبلدية دير علا (الأردن)، وBUSINESSMED (اتحاد اتحادات مؤسسات الأعمال في البحر الأبيض المتوسط - تونس). وتبلغ الميزانية الإجمالية للمشروع 1,133,180 يورو، حيث يحظى المشروع بمساهمة من الاتحاد الأوروبي بقيمة 1,008,530.20 يورو (89%)، وتمويل مشترك بقيمة 124,694.80 يورو (11%).
