Due to heavy rains and winds, the blooming time of Arita’s sakura was very short this year. All the more it is a delight to see some less popular but equally beautiful alternatives in full bloom. Mid-April is the time of rhododendrons, azalea and yae-zakura, a relative of the famous sakura – and you can see them all at Yamada Shrine in Nishi-Arita.

Also, don’t miss sipping a nice cup of green tea during the Rhododendron Festival at Yamada Shrine on 18th April (Sat.)!
