Today was a proud Navy moment.
I had the privilege of watching one of my Sailors be frocked to First Class Petty Officer. Over the past several years, I have seen him grow from IT2 to IT1, and being able to witness that progress has been an honor.
The Navy’s customs and traditions are more than ceremonies; they mark the growth, responsibility, and trust that come with each new level of leadership. Speaking with his parents while we waited for the frocking ceremony made the moment even more meaningful. It was a reminder that every promotion reflects not only the Sailor’s hard work, but also the support of family, mentors, leaders, and shipmates along the way.
I am grateful for the trust Sailors have placed in me and for the opportunity to remain part of their careers during important milestones. Watching Sailors develop, succeed, and step into greater responsibility is one of the greatest privileges of leadership.
Congratulations, IT1. Well earned, and well deserved.
