The Sports Science Training Workshop officially came to a close today, with Mr. Evans Achoki, Secretary Administration in the State Department for Sports, gracing the occasion.

The workshop emphasized the importance of strengthening the existing pipeline to champions through the promotion and development of sports in Kenya, identification and nurturing of talent, and ensuring athletes fully benefit from their talents.

The ceremony included the awarding of certificates to participants who had successfully completed the 4-day training on different topics including sports psychology, molecular adaptation, coaching approaches, athlete welfare among others.

Another major highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Kenya Academy of Sports and the Hungarian University of Sports Science, laying a strong foundation for future collaboration in sports science research, athlete development, innovation, and capacity building.

Kenya Academy of Sports continues to demonstrate visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, promoting research, and empowering coaches, athletes, and sports professionals with world-class knowledge and skills.

The Academy is steadily positioning itself as a key pillar in advancing sports excellence and building a stronger, science-driven sporting ecosystem in Kenya.

In attendance were KAS Council Chair Thuo Cege, Advisor in the Office of the Sports Cabinet Secretary Dr. Bernard Ouma, KAS Departmental Heads, among others.

Tomorrow, the workshop shifts from sports science training to research as an invaluable tool for sports development.
