This morning, I visited those affected by the yesterday oil tanker explosion and fire incident at Kapkong admitted at Moi Teaching and Refferal Hospital.

About 12 patients are currently admitted in the ICU, while others are receiving treatment in the general ward.

I urge families of all affected patients to update their SHA details before close of business today to avoid challenges in settling the medical bills, especially given the high cost of ICU care.

My heartfelt condolences to the families of the three victims confirmed dead. May God comfort them and grant all the injured a quick and full recovery.

Let us continue standing together and supporting the affected families during this difficult time.

Yesterday, our Kamagut and Tapsagoi communities were badly affected by the tragic fire incident at Kapkong after a petrol tanker fell over.

I wish to convey my sincere sympathies to everyone affected by this unfortunate tragedy.

I deeply appreciate the multi-agency response teams, as well as members of the community, who came together and offered assistance when tragedy struck. Your courage, solidarity and swift response are greatly appreciated.

As we await the relevant authorities to provide us with an official assessment of the extent of the damage and impact, I urge everyone to remain calm and avoid speculation or sharing unverified information.

To all those receiving treatment in different hospitals, and those who have since been treated and discharged, I wish you a very quick and full recovery.

To the families who may have lost their loved ones, please accept my sincere condolences. May God give you strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Let us continue standing together as a community during this challenging moment.

1,000 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN DIGITAL LITERACY PROGRAMME

The Public Service Commission (PSC), through the State Department for Basic Education, has announced 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.

Successful candidates will be deployed to schools at Sub-county level for 12 months, supporting e-learning, digital literacy, ICT integration and related school technology services.

We warmly welcomed the operationalization of the Turbo Magistrate’s Court through the mobile court stage as we await its full operationalization.

Today, we witnessed the first court sitting, where the Principal Magistrate handled at least 40 criminal cases—a significant milestone in bringing justice and essential services closer to our people.

The court is also an important step towards the upgrading of Cheramei Township to municipal status, a vision that will strengthen urban planning, improve infrastructure and public services, attract investment, support local businesses and create greater opportunities for our youth.

This is not just about a court; it is about bringing services closer to the people and building a better, more vibrant and prosperous community together.

Cheramei is growing. Our people are moving forward.

The ongoing pipe-laying works under the Ainabngetik Water Project are progressing well.

So far, the water pipes have been extended to Koilel ECD and its environs, bringing the project closer to serving more residents within the area.

Beginning tomorrow, the works will proceed with the extension of water pipes to additional areas around Ainabngetik Centre.

We remain committed to ensuring that the project reaches its intended beneficiaries and that more households and institutions gain access to reliable and clean water.
