SUBA NORTH’S POLITICAL RESET:
WHY SILAS JAKAKIMBA’S MOMENT HAS COME.

“Dayat Nyaka Loki” — Change the Diet.

The entry of Silas Chepkeres Jakakimba into the Suba North parliamentary contest is not simply the arrival of another candidate. It is the emergence of a political force whose moment has unmistakably arrived.

This is more than an election. It is a referendum on the future of Suba North.

Jakakimba’s clarion call, “Dayat Nyaka Loki” — change the diet — is far more than a catchy campaign slogan. It is an ideological declaration against political monotony, complacency and recycled leadership. It is a call for intellectual renewal, visionary governance and transformational representation.

For decades, Jakakimba operated at the nerve centre of Kenya’s political architecture, serving as a trusted confidant and personal aide to the late Prime Minister and ODM Party leader, Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga.

He did not merely witness history.

He helped construct it.

Through that apprenticeship, Jakakimba acquired an intimate understanding of governance, statecraft, political strategy and the delicate art of negotiation. He learned how power works, how institutions function and, perhaps most importantly, how political decisions translate into consequences for ordinary citizens.

Such experience cannot be acquired overnight.

His loyalty, intellectual dexterity and distinguished service merited institutional recognition rather than indefinite political apprenticeship.

But Jakakimba’s decision to step away from the comfort of proximity to power should not be interpreted as defiance.

It is better understood as a transition from influence behind the scenes to direct service before the people.

His political creed is unequivocal: we must become builders of dreams and architects of visions.

Communities and constituencies are not transformed by custodians of mediocrity. They are transformed by audacious leaders willing to imagine something greater — and possess the courage, competence and political capital to pursue it.

A Generational Choice for Suba North?

Suba North now stands before a generational decision.

The late Hon. Otieno Kajwang’ immortalised the constituency through fearless advocacy, intellectual courage and exceptional political charisma.

But history teaches us an important lesson: societies cannot build their future by merely preserving their past.

They must evolve.

And that is where Jakakimba’s candidacy becomes consequential.

He brings to the contest intellectual gravitas, administrative experience, political sophistication and strategic foresight. More significantly, he possesses an expansive reservoir of social capital, relationships, networks and institutional knowledge that could help reposition Suba North as a formidable player in Kenya’s national political discourse.

The question, therefore, is not simply who should occupy the parliamentary seat.

The bigger question is:

What kind of Suba North do its people want?

A constituency that merely manages the status quo — or one that aggressively pursues a new political and development trajectory?

An administration of political familiarity — or a leadership model built around ideas, competence and national influence?

This election must transcend personalities, patronage and the politics of entitlement. It must become a conscious choice between stagnation and purposeful transformation; between familiar comfort and the pursuit of unprecedented greatness.

Jakakimba Has Earned His Shot:

-With candour and political honesty, Silas Chepkeres Jakakimba has earned — rather than demanded — the confidence of the people of Suba North.

-His credentials are neither accidental nor cosmetic. They are the cumulative product of decades of disciplined public service, strategic political engagement and sustained participation in Kenya’s national political affairs.

-He understands the corridors of power because he has walked them.

-He understands political negotiation because he has lived it.

-He appreciates that when the local and regional leadership pull and reason together in unity, Suba North and the livelihoods of its people become the better.

-And, he understands the importance of translating political access into tangible public benefit.

The winds of political realignment are already blowing across Suba North.

The question is no longer whether Jakakimba belongs in this race.

The question is;

-Whether Suba North is ready to seize the moment.

-Ready to exchange political repetition for political renewal.

-Ready to move from representation to influence.

-Ready to replace the politics of preservation with the politics of possibility.

Because leadership is not simply about inheriting a legacy.

It is about having the courage to create the next one.

Dayat Nyaka Loki.

Change the diet. Change the politics. Change the trajectory of Suba North.

The season for political reinvention has arrived.

OKEBE, go for it.

The Relationship, the Respect and the Trust Endure.

Yesterday, 2nd September 2026, was a profoundly meaningful moment as Silas Chepkeres Jakakimba paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Amb. Dr. Ida Odinga.

For two decades, Jakakimba has had the privilege of serving one of Kenya’s most consequential leaders, the Right Hon. RAILA ODINGA — Jakom, BABA — and, by extension, MAMA, H.E. Amb. Dr. Ida Odinga. Through those years, he has witnessed, learned and contributed to a remarkable journey defined by service, courage, resilience and an unwavering commitment to the people.

The enduring warmth, respect and trust between Jakakimba and MAMA speak to a relationship built over many years of shared experiences and service.

As Jakakimba looks to the next chapter, he carries with him the values that have shaped his journey: service, courage, integrity, leadership and a commitment to development. These are not merely lessons from the past, but a foundation for the future.

The words of H.E. Dr. Canon Ida Odinga were both gracious and inspiring:

“ASEGWEDHI. You have my full blessings, Jakakimba. Always remember God in everything. Koro dhi imany piny. Alemoni.”

A powerful blessing for a new chapter.

The journey continues. The values endure. The service goes on.

🌿 HAPPY NEW MONTH, SUBA NORTH!

Every new month brings us one step closer to realizing the vision we have for Suba North — a constituency where every family has an opportunity to thrive, our young people can build meaningful futures, our farmers and entrepreneurs can prosper, and every community can share in development.

As we welcome September, let us remember that our journey is not merely about politics. It is about people, purpose, dignity and a better future for our livelihoods.

August 10th, 2027 is a date we have set as a milestone on the road toward realizing this mission. But the work begins today — through listening, building partnerships, empowering our communities and keeping hope alive.

We envision a Suba North where leadership is measured not by promises, but by the lives we improve, opportunities we create and the communities we transform.

To our mothers and fathers, our youth, our fishermen and farmers, our traders, professionals, entrepreneurs and every hardworking resident of Suba North: this journey belongs to all of us.

Let us enter this new month with renewed faith, unity and determination. Together, we can build a Suba North that future generations will be proud to call home.

One vision. One people. One Suba North.

It is a vision that seeks to put communities at the center of development and create pathways for families and young people to achieve greater economic and social wellbeing.
