A Letter from Great Nyamaji Community
This is our cry to you, Her Excellency Madam Governor.
It is now three solid months since our lights went off.
Businesses have shut down, from welders to refrigeration services that serve the local fishers.
All this has been caused by just a few Kenya Power poles that fell along the Homa Bay–Kipasi Road, affecting the whole stretch from Corner T to our beaches: Ndhuru, Sikri, and Kisaka.
This has also greatly affected operations in our local schools, both primary and secondary, with school-going children unable to attend their evening preps. Ndhuru Health Centre is also struggling due to the blackout.
After several attempts and complaints to our local leaders and Kenya Power—which fell on deaf ears, with our MP remaining silent on the matter—we are humbly reaching out to you to intervene.
Since you know the place very well, we believe you can take action to restore our power and get our operations and businesses back to normalcy.
