🇰🇪 MASHUJAA DAY CELEBRATIONS – WITU, LAMU COUNTY 🇰🇪

Color, unity, and pride marked this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations at Witu Mjini Secondary School, where the County Commissioner led the event alongside the Governor, Deputy Governor, and county leaders.

The celebration brought together residents, security teams, and local administrators to reflect on our heroes’ sacrifices and the progress shaping Lamu’s future. Discussions centered on security gains, development projects, education, land issues, and voter registration.

Leaders honored the late Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Mzee Twalim Omar, and Mekatilili wa Menza—icons of courage, peace, and patriotism whose legacies continue to inspire Kenya.

Lamu County stands proud as we celebrate our heroes and commit to building a stronger, united nation.

Lamu West Sub-County marked Mazingira Day with a vibrant environmental conservation event at the Lake Kenyatta ecosystem.

Led by H.E. Governor Issa A. Timamy and DCC Lamu West Mr. Ahmed Somo, the celebration brought together KDF officers, chiefs, HODs, KCB Group, environmental stakeholders, and residents.

Key Highlights:
🏃‍♂️ Marathon races (5km, 10km, 3km) with 70 participants
🌳 1,000 trees planted
🌱 10,000 seedlings distributed by KDF
